October 17, 2021 at 4:15 am in reply to: member renewal email being sent to wp users who are not on the wp emember list #83809

ModeratorI cannot add the email in emember, because it says that the email is already in use.
If it says the email address is already in use; it means there is a member in your database, to whom that email has already been addsigned.
Do you have multiple admins sharing the same email address?

ModeratorYou marked the topic as “Resolved.” Did you correct the issue?

ModeratorWhen I reset the “Display name publicly as”, it worked well with import user.
What do you mean by “reset,” since that’s a drop-down menu?

ModeratorPlease ensure that you are using the most current version of the plugin, and then see if the problem persists:

ModeratorThe video wasn’t as helpful, as you intended; too “busy” and hard to read.
Please do what the first person at the top of the thread did; which is to enable debug logs, and provide the log results of a registration attempt. This is important, because it proves eMember made the sending attempt.
Also, are you using the SMTP server that came with your hosting service?
Did you download and run the email functionality tester plugin and perform the tests that are shown in the documentation?

ModeratorDo the users you can’t import have anything in common?

ModeratorJust to be clear; deleting an eMember account, does not cancel any subscription or recurring payment obligations. The ability to delete an account, directly from a member’s profile page, should only be used if your site only has “one time payment” and/or “free” membership accounts.
For paid subscription memberships, users should be instructed to cancel their subscriptions, with the payment processor, they used to pay for their subscription. Now, if you just happen to only be using PayPal for processing subscriptions; you can use the following shortcode on a page which create a subscription cancel button. Your members can click on this button to cancel their PayPal subscription payment:
[wp_eMember_cancel_subscription_link alias="XYZ"]
Replace XYZ with your PayPal merchant ID.You can also place whatever verbiage or instructions you want, on the page that contains the button.

ModeratorYou are asking a variation of the same question, as you did in your other support thread.
The only possible way to “adjust” the price of a subscription; is through the use of coupons, which discount the highest possible price. Because you claim to have the services of a developer; perhaps he can modify the WP eStore Subscription Coupon/Discount Addon to suit your needs.
wzp
ModeratorPlease clarify which notification you are referring to… the one that gets sent to the new member, prompting them to complete their registration; or “something else?”
wzp
ModeratorThere are NO SUPPORTED payment processors, that will allow you to process subscriptions, with a separate tax. YOU MUST include the tax, into the cost of your subscriptions. In the product description you can say that the price includes tax.
wzp
ModeratorYes I have and that’s where I read:
Note: Calculating sales tax is not supported for the Subscribe and Automatic Billing buttons.
Tax (and shipping) is added by eStore, BEFORE cart purchases are submitted to ANY of the supported payment processors. Subscriptions and recurring payments for ANY of the supported payment processors, takes the form of a payment “contract” between the buyer and the payment processor. There is no way for eStore to dynamically adjust these amounts.
“In Real Life,” taxes are usually builti into the cost of subscriptions and recurring payments.
What exactly are you trying to sell?

ModeratorThere are only 2 “officially supported” caching plugins:
- WP Super Cache:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/using-the-plugins-together-with-wp-super-cache-plugin - W3 Total Cache:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/using-the-plugins-with-w3-total-cache-plugin
If you are using any other caching plugin; please examine the configuration guidance for these 2 plugins (see links) and determine if you can similarly configure your caching plugin.

ModeratorBecause the issue seems to be WordPress related; have you tried installing the WordPress 5.8.1 Security and Maintenance Release which came out September 9, 2021?
Also, do the following just to be sure:
