September 22, 2021 at 1:49 pm in reply to: How does eMember handle Clickbank recurring membership payments? #83695
wzp
ModeratorDoes eMember keep track of the payments for each month, and if a member does not pay or ends their membership, am I notified that they are no longer a member? Does eMember automatically stop their access to the membership area?
The plugin does not keep track of each and every recurring payment. Rather, ClickBank will notify the plugin about the success or failure of expected payments. If ClickBank tells the plugin that it was unable to collect a payment, the plugin will deactivate (default action) a membership; unless you have otherwise what should happen.
When setting up a membership level in eMember, should I choose the expire after 30 days option, or no expiry until cancel option? I didn’t see the answer to this question in the documentation area.
Please read this explanation of how membership levels should be configured for recurring subscriptions.

ModeratorWhat we are asking is… by what means are you importing the additional users? And are you trying to import additional WordPress user accounts, or are you trying to bulk import additional eMember accounts?

ModeratorYou can customize the EMEMBER_ALPHA_NUMERIC_UNDERSCORE language string message to your liking. Currently it reads:
define('EMEMBER_ALPHA_NUMERIC_UNDERSCORE','Only Letter, Number and Underscore allowed');

ModeratorTo prevent code injection attacks, WordPress sanitizes usernames. For compatability, so does eMember. The result, is that only ASCII characters can be used for usernames. There are WordPress plugins that change this behavior, but their effects are unsupported by eMember.

ModeratorI’m wondering if the integration of eMember (and possibly eStore) and MailPoet v3 includes the ability to direct eMember Email Broadcasts to bypass our hosting vendor’s email service and be directed instead to use MailPoet’s Sending Service? As long as I’m asking I might as well ask if eMember Registration emails could do that too … and why not throw in eStore email (receipts).
Take a look at the Easy WP SMTP plugin and see if that would help.

ModeratorTHAT is interesting… We’ll be doing some research on PayPal recurring payment limitations. Great work, BTW with discovering this.
wzp
ModeratorShould I try re-installing and updating eStore to its most recent version?
Yes, it is best to eliminate that possibility. You should also check for JavaScript errors on your site.

ModeratorIf you have a handle on WHICH members qualify; you could add them to a “special” membership level that allows them to renew at a special rate. Inclusion in the special membership level would be limited to the length of the campaign. Here is a thread that talks about a similarly related use.

Moderator,,,but when I tried to import the others…
Were you importing these users with the Bulk Member Data Importer Addon?
wzp
ModeratorDo you have the debug logs enabled? Are there any messages in the logs?
These are for NEW subscriptions?
Can you provide a live URL link to a page that has the “problem link?”
If you use a PayPal subscription button, does the same error occur?

ModeratorWho is your hosting provider, and what hosting plan are you using?
wzp
ModeratorAre you trying to merge existing WP User accounts into an eMember system that already has members? Conflicts may arise if the WP User accounts use email addresses that are already in the membership database. Please refer to this related thread.

ModeratorPlease double check, to ensure the portal area is setup, according to these instructions. Which of the 4 options are you using?
Can you edit that wordpress page from the WordPress’s page editor? Then remove the affiliate portal shortcode and save it. Does the page load after that? This is to check if that page’s URL is working or is it the short-code of our plugin that is causing the issue on that page.

ModeratorSo, when you check the product database, you do not see it? Are you using any page caching plugins?

ModeratorWhat do you mean by “it says it’s created?” Specifically, how are you checking to see if the product was created?
What do you mean by “it’s not showing up?” Specifically, what particular shortcode(s) are you trying to use?
Please post a live URL to a test page, along with a description of what we are supposed to see.
