Hi, I couldn’t find anything on this. I’m testing a new site and when I create a test member and then login as that member in another browser, and click on “Delete Account” from the edit profile page, I am taken to the home page. I can’t see anything in the Settings about creating a “Your account is now cancelled and you won’t hear from us again” redirection page. (Or an automatic email to confirm deletion). Am I missing something?
Loving the plugin. A lot of hard work has gone into it, thanks!

September 29, 2021 at 2:51 pm #83735wzpModeratorJust to be clear; deleting an eMember account, does not cancel any subscription or recurring payment obligations. The ability to delete an account, directly from a member’s profile page, should only be used if your site only has “one time payment” and/or “free” membership accounts.
For paid subscription memberships, users should be instructed to cancel their subscriptions, with the payment processor, they used to pay for their subscription. Now, if you just happen to only be using PayPal for processing subscriptions; you can use the following shortcode on a page which create a subscription cancel button. Your members can click on this button to cancel their PayPal subscription payment:
[wp_eMember_cancel_subscription_link alias="XYZ"]
Replace XYZ with your PayPal merchant ID.You can also place whatever verbiage or instructions you want, on the page that contains the button.

This is mostly about free members. They need to have confirmation that their account has been deleted. At the moment there is no way for them to know.

That plugin has a more advanced option for self-cancellation of subscriptions.
So the whole process will be automatic and they don’t need to contact you. You can just create a information page explaining how the process works (just to let me know how it works and why they can do to cancel).

It was about free members who no longer want to hear from me again. If they hit “delete account” there is no redirection to confirm that their account has been deleted. They are redirected to my home page. It’s not very satisfactory as they would normally expect some kind of confirmation.
October 1, 2021 at 6:29 pm #83745adminKeymasterValid point. I have added a redirection in that feature to send to a URL that shows a success message to the user after he/she deletes the user account.
If you want to try the new change I just made, you can load new copy of the plugin by doing the following:
