Thank you for the details. From your explanation it looks like one of the following is happening:
1) Your server’s configuration or a plugin is blocking PayPal’s IPN from reaching the membership plugin.
or
2) The IPN feature is disabled in your PayPal merchant account.
Please go to the following post and do step 5 and 6 (It has some mention of eStore but the principle is the same):

It will help you figure out which of the above is happening and address it.

You can customize that message using the following technique:
@Shop, you just have a few errors with your URL values.
First, you have an empty space character at the end of the URL that you entered in the product configuration. So please edit that product and fix it.
Do the following when you are entering an URL value to make sure it is a correct one.
Copy the URL from the browser then paste it in the field and make sure to remove any empty space at the beginning or end. Additionally, you can enter that URL in the browser’s address bar to verify that the page/image loads (which proves that there is no typo in the URL).
Please do the above and then let me know how you go.

If you are going to use the {customer_address} stamping tag then you need to fill in all the following details for each member:
address_street
address_city
country
WP eMember has capability to collect all those fields. Simply enable those fields in the registration form.
@iseanseani, It worked a couple of times which means your setup is correct. I would like to get some confirmation on the following:
1) Did you click on your affiliate link before making the purchase (on the sales when it didn’t work)?
2) Is your order status getting set to complete after the payment? The affiliate plugin will only give commission when the order is complete.
I have sent you an email to get access to the site so I can check your setup anyway.
Hi Karen, I am actually working on adding a feature in the affiliate plugin so you can do product specific commission for WooCommerce (we have received enough request for this). I should be able to give you an update within a few days.
Okay that looks like a content protection setup issue. The upgrade stuff is working as it should.

Can you please share a link to the page where you have it so I can take a look. Also, add the following shortcode in the sidebard of your site (temporarily).

Update: You had two issues:
1) You didn’t have the eStore nextgen gallery addon installed. I installed it.
2) Next, the estore shortcodes you entered in the gallery are wrong.
You have entered the following shortcode? This one is wrong:
[wp-eStore_add_to_cart id=327]
The correct add to cart button shortcode is the following:
[wp_eStore_add_to_cart id=327]
Please update those shortcodes in the gallery and you should be good to go.
