Your home page may be cached so it is showing a cached page. Also, make sure that your them is showing the shopping cart in the homepage. Some themes show different layout for the different pages (for example: homepage can have a different layout than a normal wp page).

I am not seeing the membership level field on the registration page. That could be an issue (if you have applied some kind of customization there).
If you check the profile of a member from the “Members” menu in the admin dashboard, do you see a membership level value for the user?

Remember to empty the cached pages (from the caching plugin in question) before you deactivate the caching plugin. The cached pages can still be served even if the caching plugin is deactivated. Then try the test again.
