I have created a product that requires a monthly subscription. I am also using Fancy 13 product display. I have read the documentation for the subscription coupon discount addon, but it seems to only apply a discount to the monthly payments. What I need is to be able to waive a registration fee for the users who have the coupon.
Specifically, here’s what I need to do. The monthly subscription is $59. The registration fee is also $59. So the first month payment would be $59*2 or $118. Every month after that, the recurring payment would be $59. Some customers will not have to pay the registration fee so I want to provide a coupon code for them to enter when they register.
Here is the shortcode that I am using for the fancy display and subscription, but I’m at a loss as to how to add the coupon code. [wp_eStore_fancy_display id=”1″ type=”3″ style=”13″]
Can you please help me figure this out?

You’d essentially set the trial price for $118 and 1 month; and the recurring for $59 every month. You’d then set the coupon to only apply to the trial period, for $59.
March 2, 2017 at 8:48 pm #75263DebsWebsMemberHi, Thanks for you quick reply, but I’m still confused. I understand what I need to do, I just can’t figure out how to actually do it with the addon. I have read all the documentation for the subscription discount addon and I can’t see how to include the coupon and how to create the shortcode.
I have set up my product with the trial period being 1 month and the amount being $118. Then the recurring amount of $59 to be charged every month. But now I need the $118 to be reduced by $59 if the user has the coupon code. Can you help me with the shortcode for this?
I’m sorry if this is really obvious, but I’m lost. I have been trying to figure this out for several days now and I’m kind of fried I think.
In the link you sent, the threads mention that something was sent via email to make the subscription coupon work for only the first month (trial period). Is that something you could send to me as well?
March 2, 2017 at 10:56 pm #75264adminKeymasterThe shortcode you use is the same (no change there).
There are TWO subscription discount addons. One applies the discount on the recurring payment amount. The other applies the discount on the trial amount.
You need to use the one that applies the discount on the trial payment. The name of that addon is “eStore-subscription-discount-trial”. I have just sent it to you via email.
Delete the currently active discount addon and use this new one. Then a 50% discount coupon will apply a 50% discount on the trial amount. That will make the $118 to a discounted price of $59.

December 4, 2019 at 10:42 am #75266Is there a way to use coupons on subscription payments being made with Stripe? Or to use the subscription coupon add on if we’re using Stripe with WP eStore? We’re wanting to use the affiliate ID as the coupon (I saw your posts on that) but we’re finding that coupons don’t usually work on subscription payments? Thanks.
December 6, 2019 at 6:58 am #75267adminKeymasterNo, there is no option for stripe subscription coupon.
December 6, 2019 at 1:13 pm #75268That’s too bad. So is there a way that we can create something for an affiliate to share that is not clickable?
For example, can we create a landing page on our site for an affiliate, like cryptotaxaudit.com/ivan, that the affiliate can then say to his people, ‘go the site and add ‘ivan’ to the URL, and then once they go to that URL from there the products can be tracked to him or wherever they go from there can be tracked?
Thanks.
December 1, 2020 at 12:15 am #82076goaliedude10122SpectatorIs the eStore-subscription-discount-trial version of the plug-in still available? I can’t find it anywhere.
