January 15, 2014 at 10:35 pm in reply to: How to use Woo-commerce and e Store plugin to apply discounts and coupons? #60356mbrsolutionSpectatorHello Emanuely, Woo-Commerce and eStore are two different shopping cart plugins. You only need to use one of them. They are not going to work together (because they do the same thing). Pick the one that best suits your need for your project and use that one for this project.
mbrsolutionSpectatorHi Kickdrummer, because your WordPress is an old version. I would take the following steps:
1) First create a current backup if you don’t already have.
2) Find out if all your other plugins are compatible with WordPress 3.8, if they aren’t then you must upgrade them and make sure they are. This will prevent your site from crashing.
3) Find out if your theme is up to date and compatible with WordPress 3.8
3) Upgrade eMember to the latest version (eMember is compatible with latest wordpress).
4) Check eMember’s memberhsip level menu and make sure the global access to fields are all checked (if they are not then edit it and check them).
5) Once all the above is carried out then upgrade WordPress to version 3.8
6) Create another backup
If all goes well you should have a live site without any issues.

mbrsolutionSpectatorHi epweb, the two shortcodes that you are using are the correct format provided the the id is correct on both of the shortcode.
Where have you placed the following shortcode for your shopping cart?
[wp_eStore_cart]
I assume that the above shortcode is placed in a widget, is this correct?
For the URL that does not work you don’t have the side bar displayed which I assume is the shopping cart widget.
When you click on the add to cart button on the URL that does not work, it does not go anywhere.
Can you confirm my analysis above?
Kind regards
mbrsolutionSpectatorHi I had a look at both URLs above.
Like you mentioned one works and the other doesn’t work.
The one that works [www.eportuguese.net/courses/feb3/] has the add to cart added to the side bar. The one that does not work does not have the add to cart added to the side bar.
You also have an added LINK “Click here to register for Level 1A” at the bottom of the site that works. When you click it opens up on a new tab with the same details from the site you clicked on. I think this can be confusing to buyers.
Please check and make sure that the set up is set exactly on both sites.

mbrsolutionSpectatorHi John I performed another test on my iPhone 3GS and it works great, well done
In regards to which is the best cache plugin? I can safely say that all cache plugins perform their job correctly. Some work better in different environments while others don’t. So it comes down to trying all and keeping the one that works well for you.
The following are the cache plugin I would recommend to anyone. I have tested all and as I mentioned above some perform better depending on the environment and the configuration.
1)W3 Total Cache
2)WP Super Cache
3)Hyper Cache
4)WP Fastest Cache
One last plugin that is coming back but remember they have removed some great features from the free version and added them to the commercial version of the plugin is.
5)Quick Cache (Speed Without Compromise)
I hope the above list provides you with more choices and helps you make a better decision in the future with cache plugins.

mbrsolutionSpectatorHello John have you checked the following URL.

mbrsolutionSpectatorHello John Sutton, I just did a test on a mobile phone and my laptop. The shopping cart is not working on either. You are already aware that it does not work on a mobile device but you did mentioned that it is working when viewed through your laptop. However from my test, it is not working on my laptop.
Please read the following URL it will help you to create an add to cart button.

January 10, 2014 at 2:23 pm in reply to: wp-cart-for-digital-products causing the running processes to spike #60229mbrsolutionSpectatorHi mlmalpha, Do you have any cache plugin installed? Is your website running in a shared account with Hostgator?
It is likely that the plugin somehow got stuck in a bad state on your site. So I would recommend doing the following:
First, load a fresh copy of the plugin:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/re-install-or-load-a-fresh-build-of-the-plugins
Then tell your hosting provider to restart your server (which will clean out any hanging processes). That should do the trick.
Here are some additional info for you.
There are some limitations when using shared accounts with most host. Especially if you are going to get a lot of traffic and run multimedia files on a website.
For example I just did a test with your website using [http://gtmetrix.com] and the following is the results of the test.
Page Speed Grade: D(66%)
YSlow Grade: D(67%)
Page load time: 6.01s
Total page size: 1.32MB
Total number of requests: 84
The above test is one way of finding out if you have setup your website correctly or if the server is fast or not. There are other websites you can use to test your website peformance.
There is nothing wrong with the plugin. I have a client who uses the plugin with Hostgator shared account. If you are going to use multimedia files then I suggest that you upgrade your current plan to a plan that provides more resources. Hostgator has many different types of plans, I am sure there is one to suit your needs. However if your budget does not allow it at the present moment then I kindly suggest that you change the way your website is set up and maybe run your videos from an external source.
If you need more advice please let us know.
Kind regards
