I created a product with recurring payment in eStore, and linked it to my eMember level. I did a test, and when someone buys this product, there doesn’t seem to be a recurring payment set up at paypal. Do you know how I can find out if the customer is on the recurring payment plan or not?
The customer looked under “My Preapproved Payments” and there it says only:
“You haven’t set up any Preapproved Payments yet. They’re an easier and more secure way to send money or automate payments. To get started, go to our client’s website that offers PayPal Preapproved Payments.”
Assuming it’s not working, what could be the reason for the recurring payment not working?
My paypal account is a Business account (verified).
These are my Recurring Billing settings in eStore:
Recurring Billing Amount 0.01
Recurring Billing Cycle 1 month
Recurring Billing Count 0
One common error made by people is that they use the wrong shortcode when they are trying to sell a subscription product.
Can you please tell us which shortcode you are using to display your product on your site?
(Alternatively you can send us a link to the page which contains the eStore subscription product)
Also, please take a look at this page which explains more about subscription products and how to display a subscription button for recurring payments:

Oh I see, I must have been using the wrong shortcode?
[wp_eStore_buy_now_fancy id=7]
But I should be using
[wp_eStore_subscribe_fancy id=7]
Correct?
That’s right.
If you have any confusion just consult the documentation page in the link I provided in my last response.
