ModeratorThey should be similar, in order to avoid confusion. I also add an explanation to the top of my Thank You page.
Here is what I use for the e-mail body…
Dear {first_name} {last_name},
Thank you for purchasing digital product downloads from MyExampleSite.com website.
{product_details}
***** IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS — PLEASE READ BEFORE DOWNLOADING *****
1. You will be using the following encrypted link(s) to begin the download process: {product_link}
2. Encrypted download links expire 24 hours, from the time this e-mail message is sent.
3. Please ensure that your Internet connection is reliable. Download links expire after four (4) attempts.
4. Please do not try to use any fancy download programs. They may not work, because the link(s) first point to a script that processes your download request.
5. If you are reading this message from your Internet browser, do a “right click” on each download link and then “left click” on the “Save Link As…” or “Save Target As…” menu option, to begin the download process.
6. Alternatively, you can copy and paste the download link(s) into the address bar of your Internet browser.
7. If you experience any difficulties, please contact me at: https://MyExampleSite.com/contact
Thank You,
Here is what I use on my Thank You page…
Thank you for purchasing digital product downloads from MyExampleSite.com website.
Within the next 45 minutes, you should receive an e-mail message with instructions on how to download your purchased product(s). The e-mail is being sent to the one you provided PayPal.
In the meantime, please review these important notes:
1. You will receive an e-mail message, containing one or more encrypted download links.
2. Encrypted download links expire 24 hours, from the time the e-mail message is sent.
3. Please ensure that your Internet connection is reliable. Download links expire after four (4) attempts.
4. Please do not try to use any fancy download programs. They may not work, because the link(s) first point to a script that processes your download request.

Can’t wait 45 minutes? Here’s your links!

ModeratorThe neat thing about time zones, is that it encourages us to “mull things over” while waiting for the other person to respond
I think an audit of all WordPress, eStore and any other places where you have your URLs set would resolve the matter.

ModeratorWhich version of eStore are you using, and what short codes or PHP code did you use?
When I clicked link #2, it behaved as you described (nothing happens). I then tried link #1, which worked. But when I went back to link #2, it began working.

ModeratorWhich version of eStore are you using, and what short codes or PHP codes are you using for those buttons?
When I first tried link #2, the Add To Cart did nothing, like you said. I then tried link #1 and it worked. But then when I went back to link #2, it suddenly started working.

ModeratorRe: 553 sorry, your mail was administratively denied. (#5.7.1)
Go Daddy also imposes daily limits on the number of outbound e-mail messages from your WordPress site:
“Email Relays, Spam, and WordPress”
http://community.godaddy.com/groups/web-hosting/forum/topic/email-relays-spam-and-wordpress-1/
“Increase SMTP relay limit – HOW?”
http://community.godaddy.com/groups/go-daddy-customers/forum/topic/increase-smtp-relay-limit-how/
If you have plugins that notify you of every little thing that goes on with your site, you will run up against this limit; depending upon your e-mail plan. The limit is known as the “SMTP Relay Credit” and can be determined by logging into your Go Daddy hosting account, and looking under E-mail Management.
Other plugins, like Socialable, will quickly tear through your limit, if you have a popular post or page that visitors decide to share via e-mail.
BTW, if your limit is too small, they will gladly sell you more credits in blocks of 50 for about $3 a month, or they will upsell you to a hosted exchange plan for about $57 a month.

ModeratorThe clue is in that debug output…
“[09/17/2010 10:27 AM] – SUCCESS :Connection to http://www.sandbox.paypal.com successfuly completed.”
WP eStore -> Settings -> General Settings -> Testing and Debugging Settings -> Enable Sandbox Testing
Please uncheck the box.

ModeratorRe: “Use WordPress Mailing System”
* The buyer WILL ALWAYS get an e-mail message. You cannot prevent that from happening…
* eStore has 2 ways of trying to send e-mail to the buyer. Sometimes, the preferred way of sending e-mail does not work; due to various technical reasons. By checking the box, you are telling eStore to use the “backup method” for sending e-mail to the buyer. That particular setting exists because eStore has no way of knowing the preferred method won’t work. The only way for you to know if you need to check this box is to complete some test purchases, and see if you get an e-mail, using the preferred method.
Re: Thank You page
When a buyer finishes paying for their purchase over at PayPal, you can choose for one of three things to happen:
1. No “Thank You” page: The buyer is silently returned to your site. They automatically receive an e-mail that contains the download links.
2. “Thank You” page WITHOUT download links: They are returned to a “Thank You” page THAT DOES NOT contain any download links, and they automatically receive an e-mail that contains the download links.
3. “Thank You” page WITH download links: They are returned to a “Thank You” page that also includes the download links, AND THEY STILL automatically receive an e-mail that contains the download links.
IN ALL THREE CASES, the buyer receives their download links by e-mail. You can’t turn that part off.
The choice of 1, 2, or 3, depends on the experience you want your customers to have. If you want customers to have “instant gratification,” use the “Thank You” page with the download links. If you want them to anticipate the arrival of their links, use the “Thank You” page without any links. If you, for whatever reason, you decide to not use a “Thank You” page, you can just return them to your site.
Did this help?

ModeratorWell, the download & e-mail worked fine for me. I noticed, from the very first post, that you are using a Go Daddy mail server. In addition to the usual delays they have in getting the mail out, they have been experiencing a cyber attack this last couple of days…

Moderator“A problem is preventing this folder from being encrypted” — Well, Google & Bing weren’t much help. The only common themes running through the results seem to be:
1. They all involve ZIP files.
2. They all used Internet Explorer.
The most common resolution was:
1. Rename to another extension, before downloading; then rename it back.
2. Use Firefox.
This makes me wonder if the server is doing something “funny,” maybe trying to use Gzip on the download stream?

ModeratorWP eStore -> Add/Edit Products -> Some Product -> Buy Now Or Subscription Type Button Specific Settings -> PayPal E-mail
You can set the PayPal address for that specific product. Also, that product can have it’s own return page, ***AND*** you can specify a product specific currency code, in case the co-seller wants to be paid in RMB or some other currency!
Unfortunately, as the title of the setting suggests, you can only do this on Buy Now buttons or individual subscriptions, because otherwise it would totally confuse the shopping cart.
