How this happened it beyond me. For whatever reason I cannot log into my WordPress wp-admin area. I keep getting a message no subscriber level established. I tried resetting passwords still same issue. Somehow I managed to lock myself out of the admin area of my site.

I tried to delete the eMember plugin via FTP … but there are cached pages and so I reinstalled the plugin via FTP.

How can I recover from this mess??? Any help would be greatly appreciated…

After you manually uninstalled eMembers, are you able to access the WP site? Either as a visitor, or as a logged in WP user?

That sounds like you have done the following:

    1) You enabled “WordPress User Integration” feature from the settings menu of eMember.

    2) You created a membership level where the default User Role is “Subscriber” (So anyone who joins this level will get a wordpress user role of subscriber)

    3) You then imported the WordPress admin account to this membership level (meaning the admin role got promoted down to “subscriber”.

    Does the above sound familiar?

We can restore your admin account… I will send you an email to take care of this.

I figured out how to get this fixed. I edited in mySql the status field to content protection level. Set the status to I think 1 for the WP admin user. It was set to 0 ( by me not really understanding how the eMembers plugin worked.

    I am ok now.
