ModeratorWe shall investigate it. In the meantime, because you know of the issue, are you able to work around it? For instance, by composing the message in Notepad and then pasting/sending the message multiple times, for as many pages of members that you have?

ModeratorDid you perform these troubleshooting steps???
Did you check the test page with a non-visual editor to ensure there are no extraneous characters in the shortcodes?
March 19, 2021 at 3:28 pm in reply to: Can Cancelling WP eMember Profile Also Cancel PayPal Recurring Payment? #82750wzp
ModeratorIs there a way that WP eMember can cancel a user’s recurring PayPal payment if they cancel their user account?
Subscriptions result in a “payment agreement” contract between the subscriber and PayPal; of which you are considered a third party. As such, you only receive payments, and IPN messages, regarding the recurring payments. The subscriber must manually cancel their subscription, or you must manually log into PayPal and release them from their payment agreement.
Alternatively, if you also had eStore, and the Payment Gateway Bundle, you could provide an on-site means for the member to cancel their subscription. This is because you would be processing all of the membership payments on your site; using PayPal Pro subscription services. However, PayPal Pro is a premium service, which you must not only pay for, but you must also be vetted for.

ModeratorNo matter what I do I only get the page to come up from the encrypted link with the “Now you don’t” and other content that’s not contained within the shortcodes.
Inspect the page containing your test case, using a non-visual editor; to ensure that no extraneous characters are mucking up the shortcodes.
When you click the download link, an APR cookie is deposited in your browser session. Please ensure the cookie is not being blocked.
Finally, did you follow the procedure, for properly configuring the APR product in eStore?
Also, please check steps 2 & 3 of the troubleshooting section on APR.

ModeratorWe are moving our membership database to WP emember…
However, I am not sure how to deal with the pre-existing paypal subscriptions. For people who have paid with simple paypal transaction, I can just set the expiry date and they will be sent an email for renewal.
However, with people who have already paid with paypal subscription, how will WP emember know when their subscription doesn’t get renewed?- When PayPal creates a (recurring payment) subscription; a “payment agreement” is established between PayPal and the subscriber. YOU become a passive third party to the agreement.
- Depending upon the payment terms, the payment agreement runs into perpetuity, until the subscription runs its course, or until “you or the subscriber” cancel the payment agreement.
- Whenever PayPal tries to collect a recurring payment, or the payment agreement gets cancelled; PayPal sends an IPN message to the your site. This means that any pre eMember subscription IPN messages will be ignored, and not be processed.
Depending on whether or not the pre-existing PayPal subscription have fixed lengths, or “go on forever,” you have a few options; none of which are “transparent” to the subscriber. All options will require the manual creation of new membership accounts, with varying expiration dates.
For pre-existing subscriptions that go on “forever,” you must manually go into PayPal and release them from their payment agreements. You then set an expiration date for the manually created accounts that includes some kind of “grace period,” in which they must resubscribe.
For pre-existing subscriptions that have a fixed term, you may be tempted to simply set the manually created accounts to expire at the same time. The problem is that, if a situation arises, in which a payment isn’t collected or the subscription otherwise gets cancelled, you won’t know about it; because eMember will ignore the IPN intended for your old system. You need to do a variation of the last option; in which you do a mass-cancellation of the old subscriptions, and then set grace periods for the memberships you manually created.
Giving “re-signup” grace periods is called “good will” in business; and is sometimes tax deductible, depending on what country you’re in. Hope this helps.

ModeratorYou either have to use the Simple WordPress Download Monitor Plugin or the Authenticated Page Redirect (APR) feature of eStore. For what you describe, I think the download monitor is what you want.

ModeratorAutoresponder integration does not override the built-in emails.

ModeratorOne possible solution is to store the agendas, handouts, and other PDF files in a publicly accessible Google Drive; and then have download links to them in your newsletter. That way, you can always edit the files, if you need to, after the newsletter has gone out.

ModeratorWhen you try to “access the content in the backend,” are you logged into eMember as a member, that is authorized to view the content?
wzp
ModeratorOut of curiosity, what kind of attachments are you trying to send anyway?
wzp
ModeratorI am the Admin. I should be able to look at any post I make.
Not necessarily; WordPress users and eMember members are not the same. You must be logged into eMember, as a member that is authorized to see that particular post.

ModeratorIt’s the attachment requirement that disqualifies not only the addon, but also MailChimp and Constant Contact, as well. The easiest approach export a list of active members, and do some sort of mail-merge; outside of the plugin. Alternatively, you might want to look at a newsletter plugin like MailPoet, for which we have an integration addon for.
March 5, 2021 at 2:55 pm in reply to: eMember No Registration Email After Set Up Subscription Button #82693wzp
ModeratorThe emails are sent out, after the IPN is received from PayPal, et al. Statistically, there is a 30% chance the IPN will be delayed; due to network traffic or “other” Internet gremlins. Ditto for emails sent from your server, especially if you are using GoDaddy.

March 4, 2021 at 3:14 pm in reply to: How to handle subscription “clients” via WP eMember and Stripe? #82689wzp
ModeratorFor the memberships, should I create a separate membership level for each client with a page dedicated to that client and his/her documents etc to be accessible? Or is there some way that all clients are on the same membership level but can be directed to their own pages after login?
It is only necessary to have one paid membership level; unless you are going to offer multiple paid plans. You would enable login redirect on a per user basis.
Yes, that is the correct documentation for Stripe.

ModeratorIn business math, one month is equal to 30 days; regardless of the number of actual days in a colander month. Here is the official explanation of how PayPal counts months.
