IvyMemberHi, The Affiliate captures both IP address and cookies but it tracks the final sales based on the cookie (most personal computer users do not have static IP address so it is not viable to track based on IP address only). As long as the cookie is present and active (cookie lifetime) the sale will be tracked. You can configure the lifetime of the cookies in the Affiliate settings.
IvyMemberHi, We are glad you where able to figure this our and everything is working for you now. Unfortunately, we cannot fix someone else mistake in their plugin who didn’t follow WordPress’s coding guideline (we can only point you to the mistake). The best practice as WordPress site admin is to only install plugins from good developers.
IvyMemberHi, The Thesis theme wont’ have anything to do with it (all of our plugins have been tested to work with thesis theme). There is an easy way to test if a plugin is causing the issue. The following forum post will explain how to do this:

When WordPress updated to 3.1 they made many changes to their integration API’s, so there was modification needed in the eMember to make it compatible with WordPress 3.1 and above. IvyMemberHi, This usually happens for one of 2 reasons.
1. PayPal did not receive a success message from your server saying it got the message correctly, so PayPal keeps sending the information until it gets the thumbs up from the server or times out.
2. Your servers mail is back logged and PayPal is again not getting a delivered ok message from your server.
We have added a conditional check to eStore to prevent this from happening. Please get a fresh build of the plugin here:

The theme you are using is breaking the WP-Admin menu so after the theme options load nothing else in the side bar menu loads. You can test this by Activating the WordPress Default theme.

Please update the plugins and see if this issue is still happening. Make sure to deactivate and reactivate the plugins after you update them.
