OK … customer finally appeared in my WP records. All is solved.
okgoodMemberI have the same problem (TODAY) … and this customer appears in my PayPal account as a customer, BUT NOT in my WP customer records! Why would he not appear in my WP records?
okgoodMemberUnderstood …
I have re-uploaded the UPGRADE overwriting whatever was there, de-activated and then activated the plugin, deleted the htaccess files (because my server won’t allow the download with these two files in the download folder) … AND the # of downloads still is more than just 1.
What’s the next step?
okgoodMemberI changed the Download Validation Script Location back to the original one and re-tested, but it also allows more than 1 download.
So, I don’t think it’s my settings, but of course I have been known to be wrong (from time to time).
okgoodMemberTested link generated from Admin Functions, but link is able to be downloaded more than once. My settings are 1 hour and 1 time download.
I checked my settings again and I realized that I have moved the Download Validation Script Location to a new folder. I checked the UPDATE download.php and saw that is now calls an extra file (eStore_db_access.php) so I have moved this file to my new folder as well. So now I have 3 files in my new folder (download.php, eStore_classes.php and eStore_db_access.php). This folder is the folder that is set in my settings as the Download Validation Script Location. I have also changed the line in the download.php file to make sure it’s calling my wp_load.php from the right location (per instructions I saw elsewhere).
I think the TIME limit works (because I tested this yesterday). I have it set to 1 hour (which I understand is the minimum), but the # of downloads limit does NOT seem to be working.
Perhaps my settings are wrong since I have moved some files around??? The only other thing I have done is delete the htaccess files since my server won’t allow the download at all if I have these in the folder.
okgoodMemberThe update installed OK and I set the # of download limit to 1, but it doesn’t seem to work. Is it dependent on my IP address or does it “simply” count the # of downloads. If the latter, then something is wrong because I was able to download the product from both my thank you page and the email I received (as the mock buyer). I also forwarded the email to another address I use and I could download it from there too (exactly what I want to avoid). Please help …
okgoodMemberokgoodMemberHi … not the admin, just a user. I had the same questions. I believe the answers were (1) it’s not possible to automatically “skip” the payment confirmation page on PayPal (I forget why) … and (2) the “return to merchant” text that you entered will actually be a large yellow button (not just text) when a customer REALLY purchases something. I guess the Sandbox doesn’t give you the button. You can see the button in the video example given of the purchasing process on the main site for this plugin. Hope that helps …
okgoodMemberThanks … my hosting provider told me to add this code to my php.ini file.
session.save_path = /data/tmp
I will give that a try and see if it helps … BUT … I think I’ve decided to stick to BUY NOW buttons (for now). I only have 2 products for sale and I think people will want to buy the first one first, before deciding to buy the second one.
WHEN my business grows, then I’ll probably try to cart again. It’s nice to know I have the code … and your great support for this awesome plugin.
Thanks.
okgoodMemberGreat. I have submitted my request for the update using the provided form. Thanks for all the support. I will change the duration back to 1 until I receive the update.
okgoodMemberMy server has the same issue. I have had to remove the two files to get the download to work.

This is a real, graphic button, not just a text link. Is there a way to get this button?
okgoodMemberOK I will check with my hosting provider. Thanks for all your quick support.

okgoodMemberExactly … this is what I feared. It makes no sense to have a second window open. I was just asking too expand on the topic which had been started by another.
