Hi,
We did a test sale and it continues to send the same email thank-you over and over – they are intermittent periods apart. The system is showing it as multiple sales. It is also removing the product from inventory as it goes.
It has only charged once at paypal (whew), so it’s not really multiple saies.
“Use wordpress” mail is enabled in the settings.
I’ve checked paypal settings, auto return is not enabled. I’ve searched every term I can think of in the forum.
The site is http://www.firestrykerpro.com
What should I do to stop the multiple mails?
Thanks,
Jocelyn
Very strange… Did you receive any email from PayPal saying the IPN delivery failed to your server? The only thing that I can think of is that PayPal tried to send the IPN to your server but didn’t send the confirmation so PayPal retried.
Anyway, I have sent you an email.
I’m having this same problem… I really need a solution, site is http://www.godrrob.com
Hi, I have sent you an email regarding this issue. Please let me know if you do not receive this email.
Cheers,
Ivy
This issue usually happens when your server goes to a weird state for whatever reason. Remember PayPal keeps trying to send IPN a few times if it doesn’t get a proper response from your server. If your server queues all these requests up then it will process all of them in one go when it’s back to normal.
I have the same problem (TODAY) … and this customer appears in my PayPal account as a customer, BUT NOT in my WP customer records! Why would he not appear in my WP records?
OK … customer finally appeared in my WP records. All is solved.
Re – multiple emails… This is definitely an hosting issue.
On some hosting where the mail server is not configured properly it does not do the handshake correctly at the time of sending the email so it thinks the email didn’t go. Because of this the server tries to resend the email.
Please contact your hosting provider regarding this issue… I am pretty sure they will be able to help you with this.
