If it’s not too difficult and will not affect how the other redirection in eMember works, that would be great! Otherwise, we can live with a workaround of getting members to login first before they are able to click on the submit listing. Thanks.
karencheahMemberThanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately I’m not sure how I can use the inline login as the directory plugin asks for a URL to the login page. And when public click on the button in the directory, it will go to the login page. It is not quite a protected page. More like the directory detects that there’s no login, so will go to the login page that has been specified in the configuration. So it can’t be the inline login.
I also can’t protect the directory listing page as it should be visible to public. If I could, that would probably work to bring up the inline login.
I’ve had a look at the links above too. The first won’t work as it is not a static redirection. That worked ok to always redirect to the same page after login but not this situation. The second link with the URL is similar to what is required. The directory button actually put a redirect_to parameter after the login. But that redirect_to parameter doesn’t seem to take effect. That is the problem. Here’s the URL (with edited domain name).
Should that work or not?
karencheahMemberHi, I’m wondering if this redirect is possible if we don’t use the popup login. We have a situation where we are using a plugin for a directory and to submit a listing to the directory, will require login. So the configuration in the directory plugin need the actual login page URL to get member to login first. However, after login, it doesn’t redirect back to the directory page even though it is set in the URL to redirect. I have already removed the redirect page in eMember settings which I thought was overriding the URL redirect to the directory page.
Is this something that can be done? Thanks.
karencheahMemberHi just wondering if this was resolved as I also have the same issue. To workaround it, I’ve made the email field read-only so people will have to notify the admin to update their emails.
I would love to be able to have the email update working again. Thanks.
karencheahMemberThanks, the second setting (automatically log into eMember) was checked and I have unchecked it. There are corresponding usernames in WP user and eMember. The debug log now shows a bit different but the symptom is still the same.
[deleted debug after checking it]
karencheahMemberBy 1:1, do you mean that every eMember has a corresponding WP user (but not necessarily every WP user has eMember). If that’s the case, then yes, it was working like that and I’m not sure what triggered the change.
I do a lot of tests on the staging site. I could probably restore a backup. But I thought that if something I have done could have broken the plugin, it’s best to report it. If you can fix it, it should make the plugin more robust.

May 4, 2017 at 11:52 am in reply to: eMember – Mailchimp returns Error=400: Invalid interest ID #75547karencheahMemberHi again, I’ve since reapplied the WP eMember ver 9.1.5 to the staging site, reason being, even though it says it’s ver 9.1.5, it was applied via code change directly by one of your team, i.e., I did not actually update it like I did the live site. So I thought just to make it ‘equal’, I also applied the update to the staging site.
And now the error 400 is also coming up for the staging site so it is consistent. It seems that there’s something different in the latest update when it comes to signing up to Mailchimp group.
Can you please look into this? Thanks.
April 29, 2017 at 2:15 am in reply to: eMember – Mailchimp returns Error=400: Invalid interest ID #75546karencheahMemberBoth versions on staging and live sites are v9.1.5
The value for the Autoresponder List / Campaign Name for staging is
PWL Members Staging | Level | Pearl
and live site is
PWL WP Members | Level | Pearl
We haven’t changed any of the settings and they have been working well. I’ve also checked the API keys, no change, same on both sites.
October 10, 2016 at 5:54 am in reply to: eStore – How to Use a Text Link or URL to Accommodate the Purchase of a Product #45606karencheahMemberThe text link is on the site owned by the original seller and there are no other websites involved. The reason why we are using the text link is because we are using a pricing table that is a component of a page builder. It has built in buttons so I used the text link shortcode for those buttons. I suppose it just means that if I choose to use the pricing table, we will need to skip the T&C. Am I correct?
October 6, 2016 at 6:59 am in reply to: email address is not valid when editing member for uncommon top level domain #74313karencheahMemberThanks. I can’t use the actual member’s email address here so you can try this test@test.careers
Edit member – email validation failed
…/wp-admin/admin.php?page=wp_eMember_manage&members_action=add_edit&editrecord=20
Edit user – email got thru
…/wp-admin/user-edit.php?user_id=21&wp_http_referer=%2Fstaging%2Fwp-admin%2Fusers.php
Are the URLs helpful?
September 24, 2016 at 3:02 am in reply to: eStore – How to Use a Text Link or URL to Accommodate the Purchase of a Product #45604karencheahMemberI’m using the subscription shortcode so I suppose it doesn’t include the terms and conditions. How to I handle the terms where I put the text link? Please advise, thanks.
September 23, 2016 at 12:58 pm in reply to: eStore – How to Use a Text Link or URL to Accommodate the Purchase of a Product #45602karencheahMemberHi, I’ve used this subscription shortcode with success
[http://www.example.com/?wp_eStore_subscribe=1]
I wonder if there’s a way to have include the checkbox for the terms and conditions like for the regular buttons? Please advise, thanks.
September 23, 2016 at 12:20 pm in reply to: Remaining membership time after subscription cancellation #39460karencheahMemberHi, I would also like to setup such that members who cancel will have access up to the end of the membership duration paid for. I’ve noticed that you suggested to use 31 days (instead of 1 month) for monthly subscriptions. Is that to have a buffer in case Paypal payment is delayed?
Does that mean for annual subscriptions, I should use 366 days instead of 1 year?
Would appreciate your advice, thanks.
September 13, 2016 at 11:43 am in reply to: eMember – is there a way to ban a user from logging in? #72618karencheahMemberHi, I’ve been trying to do the same. I also have the ‘Allow Expired Account Login’ setting checked because I would like premium members who have cancelled their subscriptions previously, to be able to upgrade again from the free membership that they have been downgraded to.
However, there may be instances we will need to deactivate the free members. I’ve tried setting it to inactive or expired, but they can still login and access content. I think the reason they can access content is because their account state is changed back to ‘active’ when they log in. What am I not doing right? Please help, thanks.
