SpectatorI would really like to be able to delete the stamped pdf files automatically. Ideally it could delete files older than a specified period.

SpectatorOne thing – the thing that was causing the initial PDF Stamper error message was (in part) that the destination folder was not fully writeable. After I changed the permissions the error message went away.
So you might want to add that to your list of “Things to Check” on PDF Stamper.

SpectatorI updated eStore (my bad – I used a different email address to buy it). Looks like PDF Stamper is working very nicely now.
Thanks again for your great support. You guys are the best!

SpectatorYes, I can manually stamp the files. I will try it after I receive the eStore update.

SpectatorI received the updated version of PDF Stamper but not eStore. Unfortunately updating one and not the other makes eStore not work. I got the following error message when I tried to buy a file through eStore:
“The secure download manager ran into a problem that it couldn’t handle, and is unable to process your download request. Please contact the site administrator.
Please tell the site administrator the problem was due to the following reason:
The download script couldn’t locate the file associated with the digital product. If the administrator thinks this reason is in error, maybe a different URL conversion option might fix the problem.”
This message continued for every sale until I deactivated PDF Stamper and unchecked the PDF Stamper box on the digital product. I’m hoping this will go away once I get the updated eStore? (I asked again for an eStore update so we’ll see)

SpectatorSorry, one other thought. I do comics, which often have artwork that extend out to the edge of each page. Is it possible to have some kind of “virtual stamp” that doesn’t actually cover the artwork?

SpectatorJust want to add my 2 cents – I would much prefer this solution as well. Some of my products are NSFW and I know customers do not want to see their personal details stamped on every page.
Also, while only a few bad apples might pirate the works, this solution penalizes the other 99.5% of law-abiding buyers. As a customer, seeing your email address on the file is like getting a message saying “I don’t trust you” stamped across every page. I don’t want to send that kind of message.
BTW I haven’t bought pdf stamper for this reason but if you make this change I will definitely buy it.
jaylat
SpectatorIn that case, never mind. I don’t want to put you through a lot of hassle for it.
Thanks again for the quick response.

SpectatorI finally updated my site and this solutions seems to work very well. Thank you!
jaylat
SpectatorThat would be great. How do I contact you?
jaylat
SpectatorYou are entirely correct. My admin guy redid the table per your instructions and it works perfectly.
Thanks again!
jaylat
SpectatorUpdate: My admin helper changed the table to UTF-8, however the characters still read as “???” After changing the table, I went and changed the product name and re-saved it, still the same outcome.
jaylat
SpectatorThanks, but (after much Googling) that seems to be above my level of expertise. I’ll try to see if I can get someone more familiar than I am with WordPress to help me.
jaylat
SpectatorI’m using version 5.9.6. Not sure how to convert the tables to UTF-8? Is there a widget for that?
The product name is: スカイスクレーパー・スージー
