October 20, 2011 at 8:32 am in reply to: How to configure so PayPal doesn't ask for shipping address for digital download #18941jaylatSpectator
I’m not using the PayPal profile based shipping (box not checked) and the checkout doesn’t have any shipping cost involved, but the emails from Paypal still contain the full shipping address. BTW I’m using v 5.9.6
jaylatSpectatorYes, “bundled products” was what I meant.
jaylatSpectatorThanks very much! However, it still requires adding an extra product code for each variation, right? That’s what I was trying to avoid doing for my 30+ products.
In that case, I think the same thing can be accomplished without the APR feature. Just add additional products for each variation, noting the format in the product name, and then combine them as multiple downloads. That way the buyer will see:
ABC Book (PDF version): link1
ABC Book (JPG version): link2
That should work just as well, I think?
jaylatSpectatorThanks for the quick reply, but that’s not quite what I meant. I realize that you need the option to choose the variation before the payment. What I’m saying is that this is not optimal for those who offer multiple formats at the same price. Especially in comics (my product) there are numerous formats that will likely only increase over time. I think a lot of sellers would like to be able to offer the options to buyers after payment, in order to streamline the buying process.
For example, I’d like to give the buyer the option to download multiple formats if he chooses. What I don’t want is for him to hesitate to buy as he tries to decide between PDF and JPEG. And I don’t want to automatically give every buyer both formats as it will double the download size.
It seems the easy fix at this stage is to just add a note to the download page that says “Click on the first link for PDF and the second for JPG.” But again, this is kind of clunky and confusing.
BTW this is a feature I’d be willing to pay extra for. You might want to consider it as an add-on?
jaylatSpectatorHey thanks a lot, that’s exactly what I needed!
You guys are great – great product and wonderful support.
jaylatSpectatorI’ve issued several refunds over the past 60 days and none of them are showing up in my eStore’s stats. I did check the box for “Automatic Customer Record Removal” in eStore. Everything else seems to be working just fine.
I’m sure I’m doing something wrong, not sure what it is?
jaylatSpectatorThanks again for the quick response. Unfortunately it happened before I installed eStore. Wish I had done it sooner.
jaylatSpectatorThanks for the quick reply! Just to take the points in order.
1. Thanks, good to know but are you saying it’s impossible to go back and edit the sales count after the fact? The only chance to edit it is during the time you create it?
2. Yes I meant “refund.” I’m using Paypal.
3. Great, look forward to it.
4. How about using your Estore stats? I just want to get an idea how many downloads there are. I suppose it could be done with Google using goals instead.
5. Thanks, I’ll try it.
jaylatSpectatorThanks, that fixed it!
jaylatSpectatorHi Key Master,
Thanks, checked everything on the list and still not working after several sales and a 2 day delay. I’ve put through a transaction and found the following code (I hope this is what you are looking for):
// Google Analytics for WordPress by Yoast v4.0.10 | http://yoast.com/wordpress/google-analytics/
var _gaq = _gaq || [];
_gaq.push();
_gaq.push([‘_tra// Google Analytics for WordPress by Yoast v4.0.10 | http://yoast.com/wordpress/google-analytics/
var _gaq = _gaq || [];
_gaq.push();
_gaq.push(,‘_addTrans’,’04Y20737NG172835N’,’Comics by DreamTales’,’5.00′,’0.00′,’0.00′,’York’,’PA’,’United States’,‘_addItem’,’04Y20737NG172835N’,’1′,’Suzy & Frank II’,”,’5.00′,’1′,‘_trackTrans’);
(function() {
var ga = document.createElement(‘script’); ga.type = ‘text/javascript’; ga.async = true;
ga.src = (‘https:’ == document.location.protocol ? ‘https://ssl’ : ‘http://www’) + ‘.google-analytics.com/ga.js’;
var s = document.getElementsByTagName(‘script’)[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(ga, s);
})();
//
jaylatSpectatorQuestion – if I uncheck the “Auto Redirect” then my customer must click on the link to get back to my web site, right? My concern is that I have overseas non-English speaking buyers who might not know where to click.
My analytics aren’t tracking but I can see from this post that to get them working I have to force my customer to click to get his product (assuming the email doesn’t go through). So I have to choose between (1) auto return and (2) working google analytics? Is there any other way around this?
jaylatSpectatorI think I’m like a lot of people who sell digital books. It doesn’t make sense for a customer to buy more than one copy of a book. I would like to limit each customer to one purchase per item.
Is this possible? If not, I think it would be a very useful upgrade.
