As each new stamp is generated it’s saved inside the /stamped-files/ folder, where it’s then linked to.
I was wondering if it’s at all possible to delete the older, existing stamps over time or after each download automatically? Our client is expecting quite high traffic after launch and having hundreds of downloads/copies of stamped files created could hurt the servers. I understand that the cached files can be manually deleted inside WordPress or via the database, but an automatic method would be preferred, if possible.

In the “Manage Stamped Files” menu you see a list of stamped files (these are not really cached files). Cached files are automatically deleted when they are old or you can delete them manually too.
If you are referring to the stamped files then those are not automatically deleted because some users prefer to keep them. If you delete these files every few months or so you should be fine. We can look into adding an option to delete them automatically too.
I would really like to be able to delete the stamped pdf files automatically. Ideally it could delete files older than a specified period.
