Seems to have helped, as far as new members go – but still a REAL pain for me as admin. I am listed as the admin on the forum – yet I can’t even access it!! (please login yada yada).
Hate to keep mentioning WishList (I DO love eMember – please don’t get me wrong) but they make it a seamless integration. As admin I am automatically allowed to access the member’s area – and members don’t need to get confused with WordPress logins etc etc
I just want to be able to write some introductory forum posts as administrator before letting people in! LoL
What should I do here?
Thanks
B
P.S. I have all three boxes now checked off (WordPress User Integration) on the eMember main settings page, yet still no luck. If I created a new emember account I’d just end up with two “Bentley”s on the forum (plus not sure I can grant admin status to a member).
I have little doubt there is some tiny tidbit of info I am missing here!!!

bentley74MemberSo would I need to check off the “create WordPress user account” box in order for a new member to automatically become a member of the SimplePress forum inside my member’s area?
bentley74MemberBut then that means my regular viewing public won’t be able to leave comments on the rest of my blog (the non-members-only content), right?
Guess I can’t have my cake and eat it too??
Oh well
bentley74MemberThat check box is not selected, so based on what you’ve said (at least my understanding of what you’ve said), when I click on the “leave a comment” link when NOT logged in it should tell me I can’t leave a comment, right?
What actually happens is the comment box comes up and I can leave a comment (well I assume I can anyway).
Obviously not too likely people will try to leave comments on a post they can’t see, but you never know.
bentley74MemberHi – just wondering about this myself.
I have a new membership and have designated a category on the blog as “Member’s Only” and have protected it. But it looks as though the public can still see comments on posts in this category, and leave comments themselves. Just wondering how to completely shut off access to member’s only posts.
One of the nifty features in WishList is the ability to basically make member’s only stuff disappear from the blog – only becomes visible when logged in. Would be great if you could incorporate something like this. I don’t really want to make non-member’s feel excluded every time I post something for the group.
Thanks

bentley74MemberOk – Ivy to the rescue on the registration page situation (I did not realize I still needed a registration page created in WordPress even though I am not taking free members).
This Aweber issue is really bizarre though. I followed the instructions for setting up a email parser (and did so exactly the same way as with previous estore products on other sites) – no clue why it would send a confirmation request to the source email address (ie where the list is sent from) rather than sending it to the customer!
bentley74MemberThe only link I have not added to that page is the “registration page”, but I don’t want to have a free membership level available. When I tried to create a page (thinking perhaps that this would somehow tie in to the paid member registration) it just told me there is no free registration available when I put in the shortcode.
I have emember linked up to ecart, so I have no idea why it won’t generate a proper registration page link when someone pays for the package.
Any thoughts on the fact that Aweber sent ME the request to sign up for the list and not my customer?
Thanks
bentley74MemberThis the main product package has two downloadable files (and I’ve included links in the email the shopping cart sends out, but want to make sure customers can download in members area as well) – BUT each of these buttons on the downloads page are actually for a single file.
bentley74MemberOk – think I figured it out. I had the default source folder URL in the main settings section. When I changed it over to the actual folder where my file is it worked fine.
Guess I figured the manual stamping URL would just override the URL in the settings.
Anyway – glad to have it working!
bentley74MemberOk – now my error is “Secret key or source file information is not present in the request.”
This came up when I tried a manual stamping.
The license key is definitely activated, and the file is definitely where I’ve told the plugin it is, so I have no clue.
Any ideas?
Thanks
bentley74MemberI thought this was strange too (not being able to see content). With WishList, when I’m logged in to WordPress I become admin and can see everything. Is there some way to make it possible for an admin to be able to access everything (using EMember) when logged in, rather than having to login to a specific account?
bentley74MemberHi Amin – not sure I understand what you mean re: “automatic” vs “binary” uploading. Is this a setting that gets adjusted in the FTP program (FireFTP in this case)?
The PDF stamper was a copy of the latest version – I was sent the download link after requesting an update yesterday or the day before.
Should I still request another download link? Or try simply uploading it again?

With e-cart is there some way to have multiple downloadable PDFs for a given purchase?
