I just purchased WP eMember and WP Affiliate Platform for an upcoming online course web site.
I would like to add a forum to the web site so students can ask questions. Will eMember integrate with any WordPress forums? If so, which ones have you found worked well with it? I notice you are using bbPress here. Is this integrated with eMember?
Thanks.
Any Forum Software that can be integrated with WordPress users database (works based on the Role setting of the WordPress users) will work with eMember. This post will explain more:
A lot of people have been using SimplePress forum plugin for WordPress which works fine with eMember. BBPress also have an option to be integrated with WordPress users database.
So would I need to check off the “create WordPress user account” box in order for a new member to automatically become a member of the SimplePress forum inside my member’s area?
Your settings need to look exactly like the screenshot in this documentation:
Yep all three of those boxes are checked off. Should I now be able to access the member’s area just by being logged in to WordPress? Will try again – but almost positive it still wasn’t working
Whoops – got this one mixed up with another thread I added to.
It IS working for users – ie when they visit forum they are logged in. But what it DOESN’T do is allow me as admin to use the forum.
This post has the answer to your other question:

Ok – figured out a work-around by accident. Seems weird to me, but when I am logged into WordPress and then log in to my membership (with a test account), the eMember user becomes ME (not the test user) and I can post on the forum and do forum admin stuff.
Interesting!
