Just to be clear on this-to make this work I would need to broaden access to the “Details” page to include all memberships, correct? (Right now I have the “Details” page restricted to “Community” membership access only.)
wploveSpectatorGreat! Thanks. Please let me know when that fix is ready.
wploveSpectatorI am having a similar problem:
A user can sort by all the terms but only use the search box for the name. It’s counter-intuitive. I want to have a search function but if it is so restricted I might simply remove it as to not confuse users.
Any way to make the search box work for all the search terms listed in the “Sort by:” headings?
wploveSpectatorMy client really would prefer to use the eMember interface instead of FTP. I did some testing and found that I could upload a 14MB MP3 file via the regular WP Media uploader. Uploading that same file via the eMember Protected Folder interface landed me with a “File Too Large” error. I contacted my host and php.ini is set up to 275MB. I don’t think it’s a WP issue.
I was able to successfully upload files via eMember up to 10MB but larger files threw up an error. Is there any setting within emember that you know about that would be limiting the uploads?
wploveSpectatorNo-I searched Mad Mimi for this address under “All Contacts” and it is not included. It was on the list a couple days ago, but I purposely removed it so I could test with it again.
I just tried another email address just in case, with no luck.
wploveSpectatorSorry just found this in the shortcodes:
[wp_eStore_fancy_category_display id=1 style=1]
That is what I need.
wploveSpectatorIs it possible to display only a subset of all the categories when using the [wp_eStore_list_categories_fancy] shortcode?
For instance, if I have 16 categories but only want to display 5 of them on a given page-not the products in the category, just a fancy display for the category itself.
It might look something like this:
[wp_eStore_list_categories_fancy id=”2,5,6,10,11″]
or, to display just one category heading:
[wp_eStore_list_categories_fancy id=”2″]
Is this possible? In reading through the documentation it doesn’t look like it’s a feature, but I want to make sure I didn’t miss something.
July 14, 2014 at 1:44 pm in reply to: Protected bbPress forum only checks for Primary membership #64269wploveSpectatorI’m not sure I understand your question. On the BBPress “Edit Forum” page I have two eMemberships selected in the “eMember Protections Options” section. I have 11 Membership options total, but only users who have either the “Community” or “Admin” memberships should be able to view this Forum. Some of my users may be “Community” members but may hold other memberships and may not have “Community” as their primary membership. I want them to be able to access the forum regardless of if they have “Community” as their primary or secondary membership.
Is there a setting to allow for this type of secondary membership access?
wploveSpectatorI checked out the “Text” view and found a whole bunch of extra open and close “code” tags. I did a fresh start like you suggested and that worked. So I took a look at what the code was supposed to look like and cleaned out the code for the ones that weren’t working. Thanks for the tip.
wploveSpectatorGot it. So it looks like I’ll have to create three restricted criteria for each product:
1. Content that is displayed for not logged in users only
2. That same content that is displayed for logged in members but not for logged in members of my target “community” membership
3. content that is displayed for “community” membership only.
Not sure if I should create another ticket on this or not, but using the code I listed in my original issue, the “do_not_show_restricted_msg=1” does not seem to be working. The restricted messages are showing up in all cases. Any idea why this is not working?
wploveSpectatorThe first option is really what I would prefer so I’m glad that it sounds like it’s pretty easily doable. Would this make the Public Profile listings presentations also able to display subscription holders who hold a certain subscription either as a primary or a secondary?
What are the next steps required to get this to work?
wploveSpectatorThanks for getting back to me on this. I tried the interface that you indicated but it still came up with the same problem. It only displays members that have the searched for membership level (in this example “Community Membership”) as their primary membership level (my user profile has multiple memberships). As soon as I change my primary membership level to something else besides “Community Membership”via the user interface, I no longer show up on the email list generated by the “Member List” function, despite still holding a subscription to “Community Membership”.
This has a relationship with a new problem I discovered-the Public Profile listing. I want the Public Profile directory to only display members who have bought the “Community Membership” membership. I want to encourage them to purchase other memberships, however, but once they do their primary membership is bumped to that new product and they lose their place on the “Community Membership” profile directory.
I see two possible avenues to resolve both problems:
1. Allow all memberships to be searched and presented, regardless of whether they are primary or not.
2. Create a way to preserve a certain membership level as primary regardless of subsequent other membership purchases.
Thanks for any solutions you might have for this.
wploveSpectatorWhat I would like is to be able to generate a list of all members who have purchased a certain membership level, regardless of whether it’s their Primary or secondary or third or fourth or whatever membership level. I followed your advice that you listed above, entering in the name of the membership level (in this case “Test Membership”) in the search field under the eMember “Manage Members” tab. No users came up on this search, even though I know at least one member has been assigned the “Test Membership” level as one of their memberships. So it doesn’t seem like the keyword function will serve the purpose of generating the membership lists I need. (I sell online courses that delivered via membership-protected pages and I want, essentially, student lists for these courses.
I found a bit of a workaround, however-by going to eStore and using the “Manage Customers” tab and using the product ID of the membership level product I’m interested in to generate a list of members.
If you know of a way to do it within eMember, however, that would allow me to filter for active/non-active members.
Thanks for your help.
May 13, 2014 at 3:18 am in reply to: What to do if the Debug file is empty or New Debug info is not getting added #18310wploveSpectatorI also just got a “Debug log file could not be reset!” error when I tried to reset the WP Payment Gateway bundle Debug Log File.
May 13, 2014 at 3:10 am in reply to: What to do if the Debug file is empty or New Debug info is not getting added #18309wploveSpectatorI am using Authorize.net AIM to checkout without leaving my site. The error occurred after I entered in all my payment info and then clicked “Submit”.
I found the debug log link in the WP Payment Gateway bundle: wp_pg_debug.log but that just sent me to a “page cannot be found” error page.
The errors you linked to didn’t quite match the error message I’m getting. I’ve successfully checked out previously, so I’m guessing it’s some setting I changed that’s now causing the trouble.
Any ideas what might be causing the error or why that debug file isn’t showing?
