Yep, this did it. We just assumed that first page was the registration form…when we filled it out, we got the full reg form with custom fields and all. Thanks for the response.
lkincaMemberNo system would be perfect, but I am definitely having problems with people abusing my free trials…signing up, cancelling, resigning up.
Anything along these lines would be a great addition. Preventing access to the eStore buttons based on IP and/or email and/or name. If you integrate this with email addresses, users could sign up for more free email address, but you could do something where at least the PayPal email address triggers an alert. Even just an email to me saying ‘hey someone signed up for a trial from an email address / ip address or name that already did a trial or had an account.’ This would save a lot of manual work of going through each new sign up to find these myself.
lkincaMemberOk, that’s a good suggestion and I have actually done that. So basically I can also tell them ‘Your default commission rate will display as 10% in your affiliate profile, but this does not affect your commission structure, which is actually determined on a per product basis. Please ignore the default commission level listed in your profile.’
lkincaMemberOk, thanks for the clarification.
lkincaMemberA question on this. It sounds like you are saying the product specific commission will override the users commission level. But in the affiliate stats section, the commission level percentage is a little confusing. Here is my scenario (I am using eStore):
2 products with 8% commission
2 products with 10% commission
2 products with 12% commission.
Standard commission level is set at 10% and this shows when an affiliate logs into the affiliate center.
Questions:
1. Is the ‘Commission Level’ setting per user going to result in incorrect stats being displayed for a user who has sold 8% and 12% products as well?
2. How do you recommend handling that setting? Should it be set at the highest level or the lowest level?
lkincaMemberSo in the first case, Does Affiliate A get credit for the sale? I am not really asking how to extend the cookie like, I am asking if the affiliate ‘owns’ the customer for life. Customer joins, then cookie expires, then customer makes another purchase without clicking any new links. Is there a way to get the affiliate to be able to own that customer and get credit for all of his purchases?
lkincaMemberI found the answer…it’s last click for anyone who is wondering.

lkincaMemberGreat. Thanks. That’s a very helpful set up. I really like being able create buttons in the plugin rather than doing it in the PayPal interface.

I really do wish you guys would publish a change log. In this case, it took me two days of troubleshooting before I bothered you with the question then after updating, I have to test every function of a very complicated site to make sure nothing got out of whack. That was another two days. A changelog would have been a huge help as I would have been aware of the issue before even troubleshooting. I am sure it would help cut down on your support requests too.
July 15, 2011 at 6:06 pm in reply to: No Customer Record Being Created But Everything Else is Working #31914lkincaMemberI am using PayPal subscriptions and I am using eMember 6.4.3 with eStore 5.2.0
July 13, 2011 at 12:45 am in reply to: Help! Mailchimp integration not working – I've tried everything #33494lkincaMemberIt might be helpful to specify, if it is accurate, for the mailchimp sign up WHICH name field should be sent. I had first and last name as required fields for the emember registration form on my site. My autoresponder was not working either. Then I made last name optional and now it works. Your MailChimp specific instructions say that we should use ‘name’ and ’email’ only as required fields.
July 13, 2011 at 12:40 am in reply to: No Customer Record Being Created But Everything Else is Working #31912lkincaMemberOk, so I have wrestled with this a bit. We now force log in before users can access the subscribe buttons.
Users who sign up properly get their account activated and get access to the content they signed up for. However, the eMember user ID is not being added to the customer record. Any reason why that might be happening?
lkincaMemberThere was only one version. To make sure, I:
1. Deactivated plugin
2. FTP’d in and deleted the only WP eMember folder in the plugins folder
3. Installed latest version
4. Reactivated
Still no luck though.
By the way, I am pretty sure that the eStore upgrade instructions say to delete the plugin folder, but I don’t thing the eMember docs (http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wordpress-membership/wp-emember-installation-upgrade-instructions-3) explicitly state that.
lkincaMemberI had updated a week or two ago. I just ran a new update (deactivate, upload, reactivate) which put me at v 6.4.3, but it is still not working. Is that the latest version?
lkincaMemberRight, which is ok, but I am more concerned about them signing up, using the trial, canceling a day before it ends, then resigning up for the trial a few days later. How can we prevent that?
