Hi Amin – just to let you know that someone else has completed a test payment for me and it all seems to be working.
Thanks for your help.
LeonardiMemberHi Amin – thanks for getting back to me – I’ve just tried deleting my record from the Customers and Members Databases and then doing another test payment. The number of sales still seems to be staying at “1” though – I’ll get someone else to test it today to see if it works with a different email address – I’ll let you know how it goes.
Thanks again.
LeonardiMemberHi Amin & Ivy,
Thanks for getting back to me.
I should have elaborated further in my previous message – when setting up eMember I created a copy of my site (for testing purposes) that had eMember activated whilst my main site didn’t.
I didn’t do any detailed/strict performance tests, but it was clear that my main site was loading much faster than the test site and this remained consistent over a few days. I did make some changes to my theme through adding some new images, but that shouldn’t have made much of an impact as they were (relatively) small in size.
I’m aware of the YSlow issues and will be addressing them – however, they were issues before the plugin was activated, so I’m not sure how much of an impact they’ll have on speed.
Of course, as you say, when I activated the plugin it could have coincided with some changes being made on the server and I’ll look into that. I just wanted to get in touch with you first to see if there were any known issues/conflicts that could potentially cause a site to slow down when the plugin is being used.
If it’s impossible for eMember to cause a site to slow that significantly it would clearly suggest something else is causing the problem. I’ll look into it further and see if I can isolate the issue – although I have to say the site does seem to be loading much faster today.
Thanks both for your help – appreciate it
LeonardiMemberThanks, it seems to be working now – I recently switched to Google Chrome and it seems that clearing the web history (with delete cookies checked) wasn’t clearing my affiliate’s cookie for some reason.
I located and deleted the cookie directly and that seems to have sorted it out.
I have another quick question – I’m having the same problem as that mentioned in: https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/is-it-possible-to-turn-off-email-notification-from-estore-on-membership-items#post-2827
I’ll include the details below for convenience:
—
I am using eStore and eMember together selling memberships and individual download items. When going through the purchasing membership/signup process I recieve 3 emails plus the paypal receipt email.
The list of emails:
#1.)An email from eStore telling me thanks for the purchase and here is a link to the download (but there is no download).
#2.)An email from eMember giving me the link to complete the membership registration.
#3.)An email notifying me that the registration is complete with my login details etc.
#4.) the paypal receipt email.
Is there a way to disable sending email #1 on specific products in eStore (like the membership product)?
—
In your response you say that you can “uncheck the ‘Send Emails to Buyer After Purchase’ field which should stop the #1 email that gets sent from eStore.”
The problem is that I’d still like this email to be sent by eStore when people buy indivudual products – is there a way in which this email can be turned off when someone purchases a membership, but sent when someone buys an individual product?
Thanks for your help.
LeonardiMemberThanks – it’s all working now. Very happy with all of your plugins – great work
LeonardiMemberThanks Ivy – appreciate your help.
LeonardiMemberThanks Ivy – sorry, one final question – inside of eStore is it possible to create a subscription button where the customer pays $97 initially and then $10 for each month after that? If this is not possible, is there a workaround I can use? I really need this functionality for my site.
Thanks again for your help.
LeonardiMemberThanks for your reply – I just have one other question:
Members will initially pay $97 and then $10 every month after that – if they decided to cancel their membership after a few months will eMember recognize this and automatically stop them from being able to access the members/account area?
LeonardiMemberMany thanks – I’ve just got the plugin – cheers for your help.
LeonardiMemberThanks for your reply – I’ve got this working now using a similar solution to what you suggest.
