Okay, I sent you guys an e-mail request for the WP Payment Gateway Bundle plugin. Thanks!
jasielMemberThanks for your response Amin. I will probably add a message similar to the one you suggested to my Sign Up page very soon. I didn’t do this earlier because I didn’t want to scare off potential customers with the worry that they might not get their e-mail.
Now about the ‘Delivery Failed’ e-mails, I am only selling premium memberships with plain Paypal buttons. I checked several of the ‘Delivery Failed’ e-mails I have been getting, and it seems like the main reason for them is that the e-mail domain “could not be found.” It appears as if this mostly happens when customers type in the wrong e-mail address (like sam@gmailc.com instead of sam@gmail.com) or use an international e-mail address (like sam@aol.cox.nt).
I will keep checking these e-mails to try and find out all the reasons why the ‘Registration Complete’ e-mail is not sent out. And then I will probably have to put a message in my Sign Up page about this too. But if you think that this may have something to do with the plugin as well then we can do some troubleshooting. Let me know what you think.

September 30, 2010 at 12:58 am in reply to: Unsubscribed users' accounts not automatically expiring #24883jasielMemberHi, I didn’t get a response in almost a day and I just wanted to see if maybe I could get one soon. Thanks!
jasielMemberOh okay, that makes sense. I just got worried when I saw that the account expiration didn’t change from “Never” after unsubscribing. But I guess since the system does pick up when a user unsubscribes, it will automatically set their account to “Expired” after the billing cycle ends. Thanks for the clarification.
jasielMemberWell I have just implemented this new setting, but I think there’s an issue with it. The problem is that when someone unsubscribes (cancels their Paypal subscription) their account is still set to never expire. So how do I make sure that users who unsubscribe actually have their accounts expire 1 month after their last payment?
Also, is there a way to hide the “Your Account Expires” section in the login widget (it displays “Never” for monthly accounts) so that it doesn’t confuse any users (or give them any ideas)? Thanks!
jasielMemberYeah it meakes sense. I just hope that changing that setting will fix my issue. Will the change affect all current monthly level users though? If not, then I imagine that it will be a problem.
jasielMemberHi, I actually got an e-mail from one of your tech guys with an updated plugin file. I replaced the old file with the one he provided and then when I tried to renew the account I had created it worked this time. It seems like the cause of the issue was a small technical glitch, which he quickly found and fixed. I really do appreciate your responses though. And thanks for all your previous help guys!
jasielMemberHi guys, I just wanted to give you an update of how my test of the renewal process was. I had used a friend’s Paypal account to create a Daily Access account. When the account expired I logged in and clicked on the Renew link, which simply took me to the Sign Up page I had created (which has the Paypal buttons). I then clicked on the Paypal button to purchase the Daily Access again, but after this second payment was complete I got another Complete Registration e-mail. I clicked on the link provided and it took me to account creation page, which prompted me to create a new account (and it didn’t let me use the same username). I’m not sure if I did something wrong, or if only Monthly accounts can renew, but if you noticed something off please let me know. This won’t affect me too much if it must remain as it is, but it would sure be nice to understand how the renewal (and as you had mentioned earlier, upgrade) process really works. I’m sorry for this long post, but I guess this issue is a bit complicated. Thank you!
jasielMemberOh okay, thanks for the clarification. I created an account just to test out the renew feature. I’m simply curious to see how it works firsthand. I totally understand how the membership durations may not always be exact, but as long as they are somewhat accurate I’m fine with it. Thanks again for your help guys!
jasielMemberI also tried that alternate tag but the issue still persists. It seems to me like the plugin doesn’t currently block expired accounts from accessing protected content. If this is true, then it would be very strange since it is obvious that users who are no longer paying should not continue to have access to protected content. Also, I noticed that most of the daily access accounts created on my site still have an ‘Active’ status even after 24 hours. This seems to be an additional issue though, and I’m not sure if they are connected. Anyways, let me know what you find out and if you need me to do something to help get this fixed quickly. And please let me know if this is a common occurance with the plugin, or if it is just me. Thanks!
