Yes, it sounds like that is what I need so previous members can use their email address when logging in. How do I go about getting this additional add on?
Thanks.
djwMemberI have downloaded and installed the latest version of the WP eMember plugin and I now people registering can use their email address as a username.
But now I need to be able to change previous registrants usernames to their email address, or allow them to go in and change that themselves.
I can’t find where to do that. Is this possible?
djwMemberThis site is set up as a company intranet and I do have user capabilities set up with Simple Intranet plugin, but it doesn’t change roles. User roles are otherwise only set with WordPress or WP eMember. The role is ‘Head Office’.
Sorry, my email has been having issues lately. I will try sending you an email using the contact form.
Update Turned out to be an issue with the “simple intranet” plugin that was being used for managing WP User roles.
djwMemberI am using Version v8.6.8 of WP eMember. I’ve done a fresh reinstall too.
I have tried both, setting protection from the individual posts and setting it from the “Manage Content Protection”.
(I can’t share a link to the site, sorry. Its a company employee site behind a WordPress login.)
I have custom posts (a wiki) to be available to a higher membership level, but not the lower level. If I select all the custom posts in Manage Content Protection>General Protection>Set Protection and then ‘Grant Access’ to the higher level and not the lower, then test it, I find all levels are restricted from the custom posts.
I then visit the custom posts individually and I see that content is ‘Yes’ protected and the higher level is checked as having access.
If I return to Manage Content Protection>General Protection>and I deselect all custom posts and Set Protection, the individual custom posts are of course now ‘No, not protected’, and they are visible to all member levels.
I have even done a fresh install of my theme and tried deactivating all plugins one at a time, but I can’t find the issue (yet).
I appreciate your help. Thanks.
djwMemberI have deactivated and deleted the plugin and then reinstalled the freshly downloaded version, and activated it. Still no change to the profile. There is no ‘upload image’ for the profile pic.
I also tried it on a different site of mine in case the issue was the theme, but it turns out to have the same issue.
June 9, 2013 at 2:39 am in reply to: Individual members usage possible, inside Store level membership? #56017djwMemberI have figured out that I can have a basic level employee access the WordPress site and then only store level membership sign in (via WP eMember) to access special content and the wiki, which is what I want.
But what I now can’t figure out is how to be able to use the WP eMember profile settings for the individual signed in, if they are signed in with the store level. I would like them to be able to answer a few questions (to share with the company blog community) and be able to upload their own profile image.
Any help/tips/pointers with this is greatly appreciated!
djwMemberI have followed your instructions (several times to be sure what I am doing is correct), but nowhere do I have an option to ‘upload a profile image’. I can show you screen shots. I am on the ‘Add/Edit Member’ page.
On the ‘Edit Profile’ page it is also not available. And I have made sure to check the ‘Enable Profile Thumbnail image:’ on the ‘Page/Forms Settings’ page.
djwMemberI have followed the above instructions and enabled the profile thumbnail image, but I still see no options to upload an image. Is there an additional setting?
thanks
