Can you tell me if its possible for me to do the following with this membership plugin.
I need to be able to set one membership level for a chain of retail stores, where employees will be able to look up product information and other company information, but restrict this same information from the employees when/if they choose to log in from home on personal time to participate in the company blog.
I know I could make the store a higher membership level, and the employees a lower membership and restrict some content from them, but I guess I lose on individual tracking. If for instance an employee shares on the company blog from the store computer (where the store is signed in at their higher access level), I wouldn’t know which individual posted because the ID would be the store, not the person. Correct?
Or is there a way for individuals to sign in, or show up as a poster/wiki contributor while using a higher access level that belongs to the store?
The whole site is kept private from the internet too, by the way, so access is required into WordPress first, then people/stores have to sign in as members in order to post or view content.
I hope I explained this so you can understand.
Thanks!
June 9, 2013 at 2:39 am #56017djwMemberI have figured out that I can have a basic level employee access the WordPress site and then only store level membership sign in (via WP eMember) to access special content and the wiki, which is what I want.
But what I now can’t figure out is how to be able to use the WP eMember profile settings for the individual signed in, if they are signed in with the store level. I would like them to be able to answer a few questions (to share with the company blog community) and be able to upload their own profile image.
Any help/tips/pointers with this is greatly appreciated!
June 10, 2013 at 12:41 am #56018adminKeymasterYou can use custom fields of eMember to collect any info you want from your members. Here is the documentation that show how you can customize what fields you want on the registration and edit profile fields:
However, If you want to ask/get a different set of custom information on a per membership level basis then you could use the following eMember addon:
