Hi I would like to know if its possible for members to upload a picture and show it in their profile and in the list of members.
I don;t have that field in the profile fields.
Thanks
November 17, 2010 at 5:34 am #26627amin007ParticipantThere is an option for members to upload a profile picture. Please enable this option from the following area of eMember:
WP eMember Settings -> Pages/Forms Settings -> Edit Profile Form Fields -> Enable Profile Thumbnail image
December 13, 2010 at 8:10 pm #26628BobRMemberQ: My members have uploaded pics to their profile pages, however, those pics do not show up in the avatar box for their comments. How do I make that happen?
I’m running eMember v5.9.3
December 14, 2010 at 12:25 am #26629amin007ParticipantThe eMember profile pic is not linked with the avatar as it cannot push a profile photo to the http://en.gravatar.com/. Its the other way around… if you have a Gravatar profile then eMember will use that in its profile.
December 14, 2010 at 7:47 pm #26630BobRMemberSo what is the purpose/use of the member profile picture?
Can you give an example?
December 15, 2010 at 12:53 am #26631amin007ParticipantYou can list all your members so others can browse (if you are creating a social networking type site).
August 22, 2012 at 5:10 am #26632adminKeymasterWe have added a new feature in eMember that can be used to show a member’s profile image in the WordPress comment avatar. you will need to check the following option in eMember settings to enable this option:
Use Profile Image in WordPress Comment Avatar
June 7, 2013 at 9:54 pm #26633djwMemberI have followed the above instructions and enabled the profile thumbnail image, but I still see no options to upload an image. Is there an additional setting?
thanks
June 7, 2013 at 11:54 pm #26634wpCommerceModeratorHi, please go to
WP eMember->Members
in the admin dashboard and click theEdit
option next to the member you want to upload the image for. Now upload the profile image by clicking theUpload a file
button.Your members can upload their own profile photo by going to the “Edit profile” page (given you are allowing your users to edit their profile).
June 8, 2013 at 9:42 pm #26635djwMemberI have followed your instructions (several times to be sure what I am doing is correct), but nowhere do I have an option to ‘upload a profile image’. I can show you screen shots. I am on the ‘Add/Edit Member’ page.
On the ‘Edit Profile’ page it is also not available. And I have made sure to check the ‘Enable Profile Thumbnail image:’ on the ‘Page/Forms Settings’ page.
June 8, 2013 at 11:48 pm #26636wpCommerceModeratorHi, what version of eMember are you using? Can you please install a fresh copy of the plugin to see how it goes:
You can see how the profile upload looks like from our eMemember demo site.
http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/eMember-demo/members-home/edit-profile
Go to the above URL and log in a member using the following details:
User: free123
Pass: testpass
June 11, 2013 at 11:20 pm #26637djwMemberI have deactivated and deleted the plugin and then reinstalled the freshly downloaded version, and activated it. Still no change to the profile. There is no ‘upload image’ for the profile pic.
I also tried it on a different site of mine in case the issue was the theme, but it turns out to have the same issue.
June 12, 2013 at 1:46 am #26638adminKeymasterYou have the “Enable Profile Thumbnail image” option checked in the following settings area of your eMember settings correct?
WP eMember Settings -> Pages/Forms Settings -> Edit Profile Form Fields
July 25, 2013 at 9:36 pm #26639abhishek1234321MemberI have the same issue, i do not see an upload button on the edit profile page and I have enabled it from
WP eMember Settings -> Pages/Forms Settings -> Edit Profile Form Fields.
I don’t get it. I am using the latest version of the plugin 8.6.9 but still I am not able to set the profile image upload button!
July 26, 2013 at 12:32 am #26640adminKeymaster@abhishek1234321, It is likely you have some JavaScript errors on your site. Please create a temporary test member account and share the login URL and the credentials so I can check your edit profile page. I will be able to tell you what is going on then.
