Thanks for the link. Unfortunately none of the “fixes” worked to keep payment in US dollars as the default. Paypal kept changing it no matter what country. That’s okay I will live with it.
I had thought it might be as simple as the paypal button add to cart fix which is where you simply add in LC and the local country you want shown in the paypal button code. Thanks for trying though.
avd23SpectatorThanks. It works great!
avd23SpectatorThanks. It would make it simple to output a list of email addresses for expired members and these could then be quickly pasted into an email with an offer to resubscribe for a special one time deal.
This would be great and save a lot of time. Right now I do each one manually. It takes a lot of time but the results are good. With your addition to the Members List you would save users hours of work.
Thank you for such a great product and for such great tech support.
avd23SpectatorJust to be clear, I was looking for a way to go to the Members List and where presently I can only select ACTIVE members, I was hoping for a way to select Expired members and then choose the same Display Email List Of All Members – BUT only for Expired members so I could quickly choose their email addresses and put them into a group email to send out.
Are you advising me that this has been added now, because in my copy the ability to search and find expired members was always available in Members section BUT NOT in the MEMBERS LIST section to easily export out email addresses.
I just wanted to be clear before I uploaded a new version whether the ability to export expired members emails had been recently added. Thanks.
November 14, 2012 at 7:56 am in reply to: Emembers renewals through Estore donate without a unique ID – How does it work #51365avd23SpectatorI bought and downloaded the estore plug-in and have a few questions.
1) I do not see the DONATE button in the drop down, that you said was finished.
Where is it in estore or do you have a video tutorial about it and how to use it. As you know a buy now button will not work for donating.
2) When a member renews with the estore button and makes payment, how or where is an email generated to thank them for the renewal.
3) There is a section with the product that says Buy Now or Subscription Type Button Specific Settings and in there is a field RETURN URL. Is this where I would put a direction to a renewal thank you page?
Thanks.

November 2, 2012 at 2:26 am in reply to: Seeing Total Number of Active Members In Dashboard or a private post/page #50935avd23SpectatorThsi is such a great piece of software. The best part is how the developer considers ideas and concepts from users to determine their value for incorporating into future releases. I have used both Magic Members and Wish List Members and in my opinion both have poor customer support and are not really interested in what their users have to say. Kudos to E-Member.
avd23SpectatorThank you for the information on the eStore. I also sent an e-mail to you privately wondering about how the estore handles members I have added manually. When you get a moment if you can view that I would appreciate it so I can decide on adding your estore plug-in as well. The main concern I have is using the donation button for renewals which PayPal has advised would be best for African and many Asian countries. I had one the other day from Belgium that could not use PayPal buy now but cold make a donation and then set up their membership that way. To renew I made a donation button set with the member group ID number which works great for renewals that can’t be done through the buy now button. Just wondering how estore can handle donation buttons.
I think the last question I had on my private e-mail was designing my own pay buttons and if this is an easy process. It’s easy with PayPal for making my own buttons. Thanks again for such terrific support. It’s rare today to have this kind of fanatical support.
November 1, 2012 at 6:22 pm in reply to: Seeing Total Number of Active Members In Dashboard or a private post/page #50933avd23SpectatorThanks. This will make a great addition to an already great product. I’ll check back later for when this is available. Your support is excellent.
avd23SpectatorActually it was for renewals to show people their e-mail address BEFORE they renewed as so many members kept renewing but used a different e-mail address in Paypal than in their membership accounts.
However after your e-mail yesterday I think I have solved the problem by instead showing members their profile and asking them to use the same email address in their renewals as in their paypal accounts. So far it seems to be working.
I had thought from the software that e-member needed a unique subscriber number in order for members to renew properly. However I realized from your email to me yesterday that this is not the case. I can therefore create members through the add/member button for those who cannot get paypal to work properly for them, especially members outside North America and Europe who seem to have the most problem paying through a buy now button in paypal.
Now as long as they use the same email address I have set up a separate paypal button for them which works every time so far, for them to renew.
It seems people today have a lot of different email addresses and they have trouble remembering which email address they used for what signup. By showing them their profile at the time of renewal it allows them to make sure everything is up to date and they can match their email address from the profile to their paypal accounts. Since starting this yesterday I have had no more errors on the renewal.
Thanks for such a great product. It is simple, easy to understand, fast to implement and it works. I might suggest in future releases that the log_in widget which I am using in my sidebars, might be worth adding the user email address as a standard item just to keep reminding members what email address they are using.
Thanks again!

October 27, 2012 at 7:18 am in reply to: Member Renewal – Controlling The Renewal Through Forcing Member To Log In First #50796avd23SpectatorJust to add, I do have turned on the setting for allowing expired members to be able to login.
avd23SpectatorNot really what I was looking for but thanks for trying.
