I would like to show the member what his original email address was when he registered his account. Is this possible for wherever I use the [wp_eMember_login] code?
Thanks.
Emember 8.2.4 and WP 3.4.2

October 31, 2012 at 4:41 pm #50907avd23SpectatorActually it was for renewals to show people their e-mail address BEFORE they renewed as so many members kept renewing but used a different e-mail address in Paypal than in their membership accounts.
However after your e-mail yesterday I think I have solved the problem by instead showing members their profile and asking them to use the same email address in their renewals as in their paypal accounts. So far it seems to be working.
I had thought from the software that e-member needed a unique subscriber number in order for members to renew properly. However I realized from your email to me yesterday that this is not the case. I can therefore create members through the add/member button for those who cannot get paypal to work properly for them, especially members outside North America and Europe who seem to have the most problem paying through a buy now button in paypal.
Now as long as they use the same email address I have set up a separate paypal button for them which works every time so far, for them to renew.
It seems people today have a lot of different email addresses and they have trouble remembering which email address they used for what signup. By showing them their profile at the time of renewal it allows them to make sure everything is up to date and they can match their email address from the profile to their paypal accounts. Since starting this yesterday I have had no more errors on the renewal.
Thanks for such a great product. It is simple, easy to understand, fast to implement and it works. I might suggest in future releases that the log_in widget which I am using in my sidebars, might be worth adding the user email address as a standard item just to keep reminding members what email address they are using.
Thanks again!
November 1, 2012 at 3:26 am #50908adminKeymasterIf you are using eStore, you actually don’t even need your members to use the same email address for renewals. As long as the member is logged into eMember when making the renewal using an eStore’s payment button, the plugin can recognize the user and apply the renewal to the correct user’s profile.
You can also, show your logged in member’s email address wherever you want on your site. We have shortcodes for that. Check the “Show Logged in Member’s Details Using Shortcode” section from the following documentation:

November 1, 2012 at 6:28 pm #50909avd23SpectatorThank you for the information on the eStore. I also sent an e-mail to you privately wondering about how the estore handles members I have added manually. When you get a moment if you can view that I would appreciate it so I can decide on adding your estore plug-in as well. The main concern I have is using the donation button for renewals which PayPal has advised would be best for African and many Asian countries. I had one the other day from Belgium that could not use PayPal buy now but cold make a donation and then set up their membership that way. To renew I made a donation button set with the member group ID number which works great for renewals that can’t be done through the buy now button. Just wondering how estore can handle donation buttons.
I think the last question I had on my private e-mail was designing my own pay buttons and if this is an easy process. It’s easy with PayPal for making my own buttons. Thanks again for such terrific support. It’s rare today to have this kind of fanatical support.
