OK, thanks.
I am still trying to resolve some issues with my Subscribe button so I’m not quite there yet, but I know I will want to try and customize some of the PayPal stuff.
May 9, 2012 at 1:15 am in reply to: Cancel Membership from wp emember / Unsubscribe from wp emember #36221AnnBMemberI’ve just set up a subscription product, but I’m not clear on how members get instructions on how to unsubscribe.
Would I have to add it to their member page and put the information in my newsletter?
Or is there another way to do it that I’m missing.
For example, could I set up an account deletion page and just link to that.
Since some of my subscribers will not be using PayPal, they can’t just cancel through PayPal.
Thanks once again for your help.
AnnBMemberOk, so all the information is drawn from entering my PayPal email, then.
That explains why I don’t remember getting a key or code or anything from my PayPal account.
Thanks.
AnnBMemberProgress Report.
So now, I have two products for sale at http://www.scottishterriernews.com.
Product 1 was the “Buy Now” one-time payment annual subscription. I was able to get Fancy Display and the Buy Now button up and running with no problem.
Today I upgraded my PayPal account so that I can accept recurring payments from non-PayPal account holders. As a result I created a new monthly payment subscription product with recurring payments.
I used a Fancy Subscribe Display and the Subscribe button. Both formatted correctly on the product page http://www.scottishterriernews.com/scottie-news-monthly-subscription
But when I try to put [wp_eStore_subscribe:product_id:3:end] into a front page widget, it just shows the short code. (You can see this at the very bottom of my home page at http://www.scottishterriernews.com.
I’m not sure why this is happening as I successfully inserted the Buy Now button short code into the widget at the top right.
Can you please tell me how to get the subscribe button to display properly instead of showing the short code.
Thank you.
AnnBMemberThank you.
AnnBMemberOk, I have just upgraded to the required PayPal account.
Do I have to change anything in my eStore settings in order for it to work?
Thank you
AnnBMemberIt’s working well so of course now I have something else I have to do but I’m going to start a new thread called “Multiple fancy displays for the same product”
AnnBMemberGreat thanks. I’ll give it a try.
AnnBMemberHello again,
1. The short code is [wp_eStore_buy_now_fancy id=2]
2. Yes I edit the PHP to place ads there. I just don’t understand how to convert the eStore short codes into the format needed to place into the PHP. (And I also don’t seem to have the right language to describe the things I want to do)
Thx,
AnnB
AnnBMemberThank you. I will go and check it out at PayPal and see if I can get it to work.
AnnBMemberThank you for your response.
Could you please tell me where I can find the gallery of button images.
Also, after reading the suggested posts, I see the buyer has to have a PayPal account in order to become a subscriber making recurring payments. Are there any plans to make this service available to credit card holders who do NOT have PayPal accounts?
AnnBMemberOk, thanks for that information.
I followed the introductory video and it doesn’t mention that you have to upload a button image.
While this may be clear to veterans, for a newbie, it’s not a given.
In any case, I now have the button I want and everything’s working well so thanks again.
AnnBMemberOk, thx, AnnB
AnnBMemberOk, the plugin update situation was explained to me on another thread in case anyone else has the same question:
