I know there are many posts on this, however they didnt seem to fix why we are getting this error.
We purchased the WP Affiliate Platform software today and when we goto activate we receive the error: “Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.”
I installed the Min Req Checker and we passed the requirements.
We are running WP 3.2.1 using multisite.
Thanks for your help.
November 30, 2011 at 9:04 pm #39035PeterMemberHi,
Thought I’d ask just in case but have you tried the following?
Also, are there any other errors which you see? If so what are they?
November 30, 2011 at 9:46 pm #39036scgnetworkMemberHi Peter,
Thanks for your reply.
I put in an update request about an hour ago (waiting to hear back). I’m a little confused why we would need to update the software we just purchased… Seems like when you make a purchase you should receive the most recent version…
Im afraid that’s the only error we can see.
November 30, 2011 at 10:15 pm #39037PeterMemberHi again,
Sometimes the plugin zip file can get corrupted during the ftp or download.
This is just a precaution to make sure that this is not the problem.
Also when you are ftping the file from your computer to your host ensure that your transfer type is set to “binary”.
December 4, 2011 at 6:04 pm #39038scgnetworkMemberI’m uploading via the WordPress admin… Haven’t had this problem with any of our other plugins, I’m going to submit a ticket.
I guess when I purchase a product I expect it to work out of the box…
December 4, 2011 at 11:52 pm #39039PeterMemberHi,
So have you now been able to activate your plugin successfully?
December 5, 2011 at 1:21 pm #39040scgnetworkMemberAh ha! I just figured it out. This plugin can’t be activated from the network admin side, ONLY the individual admin side. We’re running multi-site, I thought the plugin was multi-site compatible but I guess it’s not?
December 5, 2011 at 1:52 pm #39041wzpModeratorAffiliate Platform is a “Site Specific” plugin, not a “Network Wide,” or “Must Use” plugin.
December 6, 2011 at 3:49 am #39042adminKeymasterAre you doing a “Network Activate”?
December 6, 2011 at 2:09 pm #39043scgnetworkMemberExactly, I was trying to Network Activate. Hopefully this helps anyone having the same issue.
January 26, 2012 at 9:20 am #39044georgefMemberSo let’s say I want to have one affiliate installation but multiple products on various sub-sites, will this be possible?
January 27, 2012 at 4:14 am #39045adminKeymasterYou can either do a Network activate or activate it on a single site (both options will work).

September 14, 2012 at 8:41 pm #39046trudyaMemberI don’t know how to trouble shoot this. I am new and a bit lost. I purchased this plugin, Affiliate and eSTore. Both activated fine in my coaching web site dashboard. Neither will activate in my business site. I get redirected to the public view of the web site and I get an email alerting me to “WordPress Firewall has detected and blocked a potential attack!”
Please help me solve this. I bought these plugins for this site.
September 14, 2012 at 11:12 pm #39047PeterMemberIt appears that the “WordPress Firewall” plugin may be causing the problems.
See this page and go to the WordPress Firewall section:
