When you get a syntax error at plugin installation time, most of the time it results from a file (or multiple files) getting corrupted. A syntax error starts with the following key phrase:
Parse error: syntax error .......
The same rule applies if you get a fatal error like the following:
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error ......
The easiest way to get around this is to delete the current version of the plugin from the “plugins” directory of your WordPress installation (make sure there is no trace of this corrupted copy of the plugin left) then get a fresh copy of the plugin from our server and install it:

It is really important that you upload the plugin via the following interface of your WordPress dashboard:
1) Go to Plugins -> Add New -> Upload
menu
2) Browse for the plugin zip file (you downloaded this from our server)
3) Upload and activate the plugin
