We have tried to design our plugins with WordPress plugin development guidelines in mind, and try to be compatible with as many plugins as possible. However, not all developers take the same care and keep the coding guidelines in mind. Depending on a particular developer’s approach, a plugin may not play nice which can cause conflicts. To be honest with you, there are a lot of really good WordPress plugins out there but there are also a lot of crappy plugins out there too. Try not to use plugins from an author that exhibits the following:
– The plugin was developed using the good old cut, copy, paste method
– The plugin was fully developed by outsourcing the work to *country of your choice*
– The developer doesn’t stand behind the plugin (this means if a bug is discovered there is no hope of getting a fix for it).
– The plugin is not kept upto date to work with the latest version of WordPress.
With that said, the plugins listed on this page are known to not play nice with our plugins. It doesn’t mean that these plugins are bad… it just blocks our plugin from doing the work. We have tried to list exactly why it doesn’t play nice in hopes that the original author of the plugin may take action and address the issue if possible.
OZH’ Admin Drop Down Menu: This plugin does all kinds of strange things. If you read the comments on the developers site then you will find that the answer to most user complaint is “Don’t know”. It is impossible for us to work with a plugin where the developer is not behind it.
Bad Behavior: For some reason this plugin sees PayPal’s IPN (Instant Payment Notification) as a spam and blocks it. This causes the plugin (example: WP eStore) to not receive the IPN (payment notification from PayPal). When the plugin does not receive the IPN it will not process the sale as it can not complete the payment verification process without the IPN from PayPal.
WP Download Manager: This plugin breaks PHP Session on your site. If you want a plugin for managing downloads, use the following plugin instead:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-download-monitor/
Maintenance Mode: This plugin blocks all incoming data coming to your site and shows the splash screen. This causes the payment gateways to not be able to communicate with the plugin and send the payment notification. So feel free to use this plugin but when you do transactions make sure to deactivate this plugin so nothing is blocking the payment notifications.
MailChimp Widget (just the plugin not the autoresponder): This plugin uses the same MailChimp library but it does not use the class not defined condition. This makes it to when any other plugin tries to instantiate the mailchimp API it fails.
Meebo for Sites: This plugin breaks the WordPress shortcode functionality in general!
Revver Video WordPress Plugin: This plugin is known to cause issues with the eMember admin Javascript. The issue that was reported to us is that the “Manage Content Page” shows no content.
WP Unique: This plugin changes duplicate content to make it unique including shortcodes. This makes it so the shortcode is no longer recognized as a shortcode and it is not filtered properly.
WordPress Firewall: This plugin hasn’t been updated in 2 years, so a few things can go wrong with it in terms of feature compatibility. With that said, this plugin seems to block any plugin’s admin menu as it thinks that opening the “wp-admin.php” is a suspicious request and redirects you to the homepage of your site when you click on any of the eStore/affiliate/emember plugin menus.
Update: the developer seem to have released v2 of this firewall plugin which may be working better when you uncheck the following option from the WP FireWall 2 plugin:
Block WordPress specific terms (wp_, user_login, etc.) in application parameters.
Note: It is best if you just dump that plugin and use another security plugin.
Google Analyticator: Use a properly coded Google Analytics plugin (there are many choices for this).
Custom Contact Form:
This custom contact form plugin is adding JQuery library in a wrong way which is the source of the issue. This is explained in here:
Wrong Way of adding JQuery library to WordPress – Source of Javascript Conflicts
There are many properly coded contact form plugins out there. Please get one of them
Fluency Admin: This plugin causes JQurey issues in the WordPress Admin Panel creating a conflict with the eMember. When this plugin is active the member lists and content protection lists will not display.
Wibiya Toolbar: This plugin breaks the WordPress shortcode functionality in general! I am not sure why anyone would make it so a plugin breaks the shortcode filtering of WordPress but I am guessing it is due to the fact that this plugin has never been updated after WordPress 3.0 was released.
wSecure Authentication: PHP session on the site doesn’t work correctly when this plugin is installed.
How to Identify a Conflicting Theme or Plugin
You can also do this simple test to identify a conflicting theme or plugin:

September 16, 2010 at 3:17 pm #21370mindipMemberPublish 2 Ping.fm DOES NOT play nice!!
This plugin causes you to think that your server has permission issues and won’t allow you to actually set up WP Estore. You can see the Manage Products page, but that is it!

February 2, 2011 at 5:09 am #21374March 19, 2011 at 12:43 am #21375campbella2MemberCan you tell me which anti spam plugin works well with eStore and the rest of your plugin suite – Stamper, Member, Affiliate?
And that works well in general. Thanks.
March 19, 2011 at 1:18 am #21376amin007ParticipantThe best anti-spam plugin is “Akismet”. It comes with every WordPress install by default and all of our plugins work fine with “Akismet” plugin.
May 20, 2011 at 1:16 am #21377m4declare1MemberI use eStore and I like to know if I’m not using the IPN, but I’m using the PDT, Will Bad Behavior still work? Thanks
May 20, 2011 at 4:53 am #21378amin007ParticipantI answered your other thread with the same question:

May 25, 2011 at 11:52 pm #21379amin007ParticipantThe “Custom Contact Form” plugin is another example of a plugin not including the JQuery library properly. Here is the full details:

June 16, 2011 at 3:45 pm #21380jalgunnMemberAmin,
Do you know of any reason why Web Traffic Genius wouldn’t work with your plugins (currently eStore and eMember activated)
Do you have a similar list of ‘naughty’ themes ?
