ChalkySpectatorHi
Thank you.
I don’t want the admin bar available for all users, only for those who have been created, by me, in WordPress and then imported into eMember. Is that possible?
ChalkySpectatorHi
I will give you two users
first created through wordpress and imported into eMember
username pendine password rob7mo12
second created through eMember
username fred password rob7mo12
ChalkySpectatorWhen I deactivate eMember the admin bar is visible to any user who logs in irrespective of their role.
ChalkySpectatorthank you. it’s working now.
ChalkySpectatorI had read your reply to a previous question and have reverted to using the standard wordpress roles. I am not using custom roles.
My first post refers to another post and explanation and I want to know if that advice should still work.
My second post refers to the fact that the change to allowing the editor role works with eStore v 8.03 but not with v8.05.
Please answer my questions as I have searched this forum to find all I can from other posts but none of them answer my problems.
ChalkySpectatorI am setting this up on two sites. The above post applies to site 1 but when I have tried to set it up on site 2, I cannot find the line
define(“ESTORE_MANAGEMENT_PERMISSION”, “add_users”);
that section seems to be missing from wp_estore1.php
Please help what have I done differently insetting up the two sites?
I have found that site 1 is using eStore version 8.03 and site 2 is using estore version 8.05
Site 1
WP eStore Version: 8.0.3
WP Version: 4.9.4
WPMU: No
MySQL Version: 5.5.5
Site 2
WP eStore Version: 8.0.5
WP Version: 4.9.4
WPMU: No
MySQL Version: 5.6.37
Both are hosted with the same provider.
March 4, 2018 at 12:59 am in reply to: Allowing non-admin user profiles to see the eStore panel in wp-admin: #21709ChalkySpectatorI need the editor role be used by someone to access both eMember and eStore and I need the author role to only access eStore.
I have used
define(“ESTORE_MANAGEMENT_PERMISSION”, “edit_pages”);
to give access to eStore to the editor role and the editor can access eStore.
I also want to give it to the author role so I replaced edit_pages with publish_posts
define(“ESTORE_MANAGEMENT_PERMISSION”, “publish_posts”);
The editor role can still access eStore but the author role can not access eStore.
What am I doing wrong or should I be doing something else?
ChalkySpectatorI had done that but the roles created in User Role Editor are not in the drop down list in the Admin Function of eMember.
ChalkySpectatorI have tried opening the file in Adobe Acrobat and I received an error message stating that it couldn’t open it because it was a damaged file or it hadn’t been decoded properly.
The software being used to open the file is reporting the error but the problem is caused be the file not downloading properly.
If I use the link to the file on the website it opens properly, but when I use the plugin to download the file, that is when the file fails to download properly. What needs to be done.
ChalkySpectatorI have tried with Microsoft Edge 41.16299.248.0 and Internet Explorer 11
Sorry it was open or save.
I tried both.
When I saved the file and then tried to open it, I got the same message
Couldn’t open PDF
Something’s keeping this PDF from opening.
Regards
ChalkySpectatorI am using the headings in the sample file.
I downloaded the sample csv file linked in the instructions.
I replaced the sample data with mine. It didn’t work as I explained above.
I then tried using the sample file without any changes. It did exactly the same as when I changed the data.
I urgently need this to work.
ChalkySpectatorI want all the information from the csv file to be entered in the members records. I want the members to be able to log in to the site without any problems. But the information from the csv file is not being entered in the members records. It gives a message that the member will have received an email that is not being sent.
Here is what is happening with regard to the link that you gave above. I had followed all those steps in trying to do this.
Everything is fine up to point 4 of Step 2.
When I look at the members, only the email address shows as being uploaded. There are no username, first name, last name or membership levels.
When I click on edit for that user in the username field it gives this information:
This account registration is not complete yet. It is waiting for the user to click on the unique registration completion link and complete the registration by choosing a username and password.
You can go to the Admin Functions Menu and generate another unique “Registration Completion” link then send the link to the user. Alternatively, you can use that link yourself and complete the registration on behalf of the user.
If you suspect that this user has lost interest in becoming a member then you can delete this member record.
The only fields that have been entered are email address, telephone number and gender. The rest of the information in the csv file has been ignored.
