I have installed the eMember plugin to my site this week.
I downloaded eMember bulk import Addon and uploaded to my site and activated it.
It added to Bulk Member Import to the WP eMember menu.
I downloaded the sample csv file.
I entered my own data in the file to match the headings in Excel and saved it as a csv file.
I used the Bulk Member Import to import my csv file.
It reported no errors.
The member did not receive an email to complete the process
I went to members and looked at what had been entered for the member.
The correct email address and telephone number had been entered. Today’s date had been added rather than the one entered in the csv file.
I generated and email a new code.
The member now received the email.
When I clicked on the link in the email, the website opened and showed this message in red
Error! The unique registration code you used in the URL has already been used or it is invalid!
I generated another link and used it manually myself and had the same message. I then found that it did not generate a unique link each time. It just generated the same link for that user so the message is obviously correct.
I have now done this 4 times and still do not have a working user.
Where am I going wrong?
February 13, 2018 at 5:28 pm #77285wzpModeratorWhen you import members, there is no reason for them to receive a registration link. What is it that you want to happen?
Which step from the following documentation isn’t working?

February 13, 2018 at 11:47 pm #77286ChalkySpectatorI want all the information from the csv file to be entered in the members records. I want the members to be able to log in to the site without any problems. But the information from the csv file is not being entered in the members records. It gives a message that the member will have received an email that is not being sent.
Here is what is happening with regard to the link that you gave above. I had followed all those steps in trying to do this.
Everything is fine up to point 4 of Step 2.
When I look at the members, only the email address shows as being uploaded. There are no username, first name, last name or membership levels.
When I click on edit for that user in the username field it gives this information:
This account registration is not complete yet. It is waiting for the user to click on the unique registration completion link and complete the registration by choosing a username and password.
You can go to the Admin Functions Menu and generate another unique “Registration Completion” link then send the link to the user. Alternatively, you can use that link yourself and complete the registration on behalf of the user.
If you suspect that this user has lost interest in becoming a member then you can delete this member record.
The only fields that have been entered are email address, telephone number and gender. The rest of the information in the csv file has been ignored.

Please list the column names you are using in the CSV file, EXACTLY as they are spelled and from left to right.
February 14, 2018 at 7:44 pm #77288ChalkySpectatorI am using the headings in the sample file.
I downloaded the sample csv file linked in the instructions.
I replaced the sample data with mine. It didn’t work as I explained above.
I then tried using the sample file without any changes. It did exactly the same as when I changed the data.
I urgently need this to work.
February 15, 2018 at 12:17 am #77289adminKeymasterThe import behavior seems a little odd on this site. I will check it from the admin side. I have sent you an email for it.
May 1, 2021 at 6:21 am #82977nagytiborParticipantWhat was the solution?
Because I have also same problem.
WordPress 5.7.1
WP eMember v10.3.6
eMember Member Bulk Import v1.2May 1, 2021 at 8:23 am #82980wzpModerator@nagytibor:

May 2, 2021 at 7:12 pm #82982parksSpectatorI have been able to use the bulk import successfully, although I did discover a couple of things to watch for:
1. The import does not appear to support commas in a data field. I had addresses with commas in them and the records did not import, but the import message said that ALL the records had been successfully imported. I’ve posted this to the forum separately.
2. The order of the columns in your csv file seems to matter. I found if I had the username in the first column, the import did not include that field in the record and an email was sent to the member asking them to complete their registration (not what I wanted). When I put an empty column first (I used the ‘company’ field since I wasn’t importing company names), the username was assigned to the record and that triggered the email I wanted to send to the user.
Hope this helps,
TerriMay 2, 2021 at 7:53 pm #82985wzpModeratorThe points you have made are intrinsic limitations of the CSV file format; and we have no control over the limitations of the standard.
April 6, 2022 at 2:46 pm #84315wssaustinParticipantI can’t get your sample CSV file to upload. I click the blue “upload a .csv” button and all I get is white bar with ‘Import Summary’ written on it. I’m trying this because our membership CSV won’t import. I figured if anything would, your own would. So what do I do?
April 7, 2022 at 2:19 pm #84316wzpModeratorDid you “prepare the CSV file with member information” that is specific to your configuration? Per those same instructions, the purpose of the skeleton CSV file is only to “give you an idea” of what the required format is.
April 7, 2022 at 11:37 pm #84317adminKeymasterThe issue almost always happens when there is some incorrect data in the CSV file. So try with just a couple of user entries in the CSV file at first. So do a test run with basically the same info that’s already there. Then you can delete the member records (if you want to) that you added as a test. When you can see a basic version that works and your version that doesn’t work, you will be able to re-check the data inside the file and see which row or column has incorrect data so it can be corrected.
