Good advice.
The person that was recommending cited an article from inmotion hosting who are recommended on the article that you included earlier but I think you are right and a change of host is a more realistic solution.
I have started looking for a new host as there have been too many issues for me with Bluehost. If this issue persists with the new host, I will think about this option.
I appreciate your honest advice.
Many thanks
Carthage BuckleyMemberWZP, Thank you for your reply. I am using the blogger WordPress hosting package with Bluehost:
They are one of the recommended hosts in the article you provide. It is not actually them who recommended that I turn off wp-cron.
Just to clarify, I certainly was not suggesting that your plugins are the source of the issue. I just wanted to clarify that turning wp-cron off would not affect the use of your plugins.
As my use of emember would be on subdomains, I am thinking that I probably could turn off wp cron on my main site which gets all of the traffic.
Carthage BuckleyMemberHi,
I am going down this route shortly and would like to get it clear in my head. The following is my situation:
I have my main site where all my blog and all of my sales pages are:
coachingpositiveperformance.com
I want to set up training courses, using emember to protect them, in a seperate subdomain:
members.coachingpositiveperformance.com
The following is my understanding:
I only want to use one install of the Affilate plugin so I would put that on the main domain – coachingpositiveperformance.com
To sell the courses, I would install emember and estore on the subdomain – members.coachingpositiveperformance.com
I would also install the satellite plugin on the subdomain
To sell the courses which are on the subdomain, I would use the text link option on my sales page which is hosted on the main domain – coachingpositiveperformance.com
After the sale, the satellite plugin on the subdomain and the affliate plugin on the main domain would communicate to register the sale to the appropriate affiliate.
Have I got that right?
Carthage BuckleyMemberThanks for that admin. It looks to be perfect for the job.
I just have a quick question re: using buy now buttons with the plugin.
Will it automatically add the tax based on the individual’s IP address or does the plugin only work with the add to cart option?
Carthage BuckleyMemberAdmin, thanks for coming back to me.
I think I have managed to resolve the problem this morning. It seems that the issue was due to the CDN that I am using – sitelock.
I just installed a plugin they make which adds a bit of code and when I performed a test sale, it recorded the right IP address.
Thanks for your help.
Carthage BuckleyMemberI am using paypal. I have a buy now button on my sales page which uses the link e.g. domain.com/?wp_estore_buy_now=5
The sales are going through fine and I must stress that I am delighted with the plugin. It’s outstanding.
It’s just picking up my servers IP address. I have feeling that it might be the host as I am also getting some spam comments which appear to originate from my servers ip address. Would it be possible that it is server configuration. If so, I will get onto my host though I am planning to change host in the new year any way.
PS. Have you any idea when the addon might be ready?
Carthage BuckleyMemberPlease ignore my previous question.
If they cannot give me a workaround then the welcome gate is more trouble than it is worth.
Carthage BuckleyMemberThank you WZP,
I will indeed contact Leadbrite.
Just to help my decision making, what is that the webhhook is doing for me? i.e. is it critical? If it is then I may have little choice but to remove the welcome gate (if there is nothing that leadbrite can do).
Carthage BuckleyMemberI have now received a message from Stripe telling me that they cannot deliver the webhook.
Just to recap the webhook did deliver when the welcome gate was down but now that the welcome gate is back up it is not delivering again. The most recent message is:
Message from Stripe
[similar message as my first post]
End stripe message
Carthage BuckleyMemberFair point.
I gave it a try and no websites, computers or low-flying ducks were harmed in the process.
The redirect is now working and I have not received any error message about webhooks.
Thank you for your help.
Carthage BuckleyMemberHi, in the eStore settings, I have specified:
I had forgotten about that as I thought that return URL that I specified for Stripe, in the Payment Gateway settings is:
[coachingpositiveperformance.com/thank-you-page]
I’m guessing that it should be the same page for both or do I need to have a link specified for both?
Carthage BuckleyMemberOk, with the welcome gate down, I received an email from Stripe telling me that they have been able to deliver a webhook.
There seems to be a second issue too as the redirect is not working.
The url that I have specified as the return URL is:
coachingpositiveperformance.com/thank-you-page
But I am been redirected to the following url:
Carthage BuckleyMemberOk, I will take it down and do a test sale and come back to you.
Carthage BuckleyMemberThanks for getting back to me.
I was assuming that it was the problm as the url returned is the welcome gate.
I can take it down easily. What test do I need to do?
Carthage BuckleyMemberThank you for all of your help. It is greatly appreciated.
My theme maker has provided me with the necessary CSS to fix the issue.
