July 1, 2015 at 10:51 pm in reply to: Paypal expanding Buyer Protection to cover intangible purchases #70660wordpressdesignMember
Thanks, I will copy/paste your answer and keep it handy in case it happens!!
However, having been dealing with Paypal for so many years, I know very well that if they say ‘provide *compelling evidence* that you provided the item’, none of your arguments (although they make sense to ME, and I will try) will suffice.
In particular:
>because each link is unique:
they won’t give a cent about that, if the buyer says he did not get the file.
>you have a record of who got what:
they want PROOF otherwise it’s my word against the customer.
>it’s not your problem if the buyer shared their link:
sharing is not the problem, the problem is that the customer makes a purchase, gets the file, and then – up to 6 months later (!) – he can say that he did not get the download link (because apparently according to Paypal morons it’s ok to realize that the link didn’t arrive six months after the payment lol).
I will now turn debug on, thanks for that tip also!
December 18, 2013 at 12:25 pm in reply to: Problem with version 1.6.3 of Video Lightbox (free version) #59717wordpressdesignMemberIt’s working now! I was used to Video Lightbox not having any settings (AFAIK versions up to to 1.6.1 do not have any settings) so I did not check under Settings>VideoLightbox and I couldn’t imagine that once installed & activated the plugin is disabled by default. Thanks!
December 17, 2013 at 12:30 pm in reply to: Problem with version 1.6.3 of Video Lightbox (free version) #59715wordpressdesignMemberHello mbrsolution,
I am also using Firefox 26 on a Mac with OS X 10.8.3 and all videos from this page [http://weightlosstalk.net/category/videos/] open in a new window at Youtube (not in the usual lightbox on site). I updated Lightbox to 1.6.4 and also tried Safari and Chrome, no luck same behaviour.
The only way for me to play videos onsite in the lightbox is to use Lightbox 1.6.1 as installed here [http://weightlossinthenews.com/category/videos/]
Thank you for taking time to check this issue, I hope it will be solved soon.
wordpressdesignMemberExcellent it works! Thanks!
wordpressdesignMemberUpdate: if I install previous version (5.2.0) it works.
If I try to update to 5.2.2 it breaks.
I want to install 5.2.2 because I understand it has the option to hide the WP Supercache notice (just like you did with estore).
wordpressdesignMemberForgot to mention that the plugin was working fine until before I tried to install the latest version, also I have downloaded it twice just in case the zip file was corrupted with no luck.
wordpressdesignMemberTerrific thanks!
wordpressdesignMemberI have the same problem (I have another thread re:wp supercache trouble), anyway, I see not one but TWO notices (see here http://bit.ly/NEjbsb)
I can not follow the instructions because if I check late init with ‘Use mod_rewrite to serve cache files’ also checked, my website becomes unvisitable (error 500).
I want to use mode_rewrite because my site is much faster this way. Is there a way to removed the notices, estore works anyway (even without following the instructions).
wordpressdesignMemberActually I just checked ‘Late init’ in WP Supercache (as per instructions) and the banners have disappeared (DUH)
Only problem left is quantity does not get updated.
wordpressdesignMemberActually I believe warning banners do not show because I upgraded WP Supercache. I just purchased and installed WP Affiliate and the banners have started to show again.
wordpressdesignMemberMost products have quantity 1, and if a buyer makes a purchase, this qty does not get updated. Maybe later, a second buyer would try to make a purchase because he sees qty 1 and gets an error (qty not available).
AFTER he gets qty not available in the cart widget, OR if I edit the post clearing the cache, the quantity next the buy button gets refreshed (i.e. it shows sold out).
As said no big deal, BUT the problem now is that I upgraded to WP Supercache 1.1 and the yellow warning
‘You have the WP Super Cache plugin active. Please make sure to follow…. ‘
shows up again, and this times it shows TWICE! (See here http://bit.ly/KGUN9O)
You kindly emailed me estore 6.6.9 to get rid of this annoying problem, could you help me to fix it again please (I spend many hours a day working at my site and get distracted by those two yellow banners). THANKS!!!
wordpressdesignMemberJust FYI Amin, I was mistaken. My ‘real time counter’ was at 1 for one product, I got a sale, and still shows 1.
(No big deal for me I just save the post again to refresh the cache).
wordpressdesignMemberGot a few sales and as far as I can tell the new version works flawlessly, meaning product real time counter on the (cached) sale page gets updated. Great job thank you so much!
wordpressdesignMemberNew version installed and wp supercache settings updated thanks!
The warning has disappeared which is good, now just need a real sale to see how it goes (i.e. if the products inventory counter which is shown on the sale page gets updated).
wordpressdesignMemberCool idea thanks – the dev says something about tags in the plugin description
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-super-cache/faq/
but he also says
“you can use a WP Super Cache tag to do the job, but you can’t use mod_rewrite mode caching. You have to switch to PHP or legacy caching.”
so no good for me.
Many others discuss the same problem

but answers all look inconclusive and unfortunately quite above my head. Will keep searching and bookmark this thread in case a solution pops up.
