As you can see the screenshot here http://ahead-hosting.com/Screenshot-4.jpg
same webpage, after one sale.
On the left how visitors see it (cached), it shows 12 items available. On the right, how I see it (logged in, uncached), shows 11 items available, which is the actual inventory.
wordpressdesignMemberYou are correct, but, it happened to me once that two different customers bought the same item at the same time, must have been a coincidence. Now I have tested the page myself and even if it says Qty available 1, as you said you can’t check out.
The cache plugin serves the cached page that shows Qty 1 even though the quantity is zero. When they add the item to the cart eStore returns an error and says Not Available, which is good. If there was the possibility to show Sold Out rather than an error that would be fantastic. I am running v6.3.7 at ahead-hosting.com.
wordpressdesignMemberGot it, thanks!
wordpressdesignMemberGot it sorted, it was a FeedWordPress plugin setting. If will ever be anyone using FeedWordPress + eMember and stuck with the same problem, just disable the default “Protect syndicated posts from formatting filters” under Posts&Links settings.
wordpressdesignMemberThanks, I imagined that. Thanks for the link. If, as a test, I change the automated content plugin to WPRobot, and still get automated content, it gets protected. Not the case with FeedWordPress, which evidently puts something weird in the posts, as strange as it may sound. This one is going to stay a mystery!
wordpressdesignMemberGreat!! Thanks!
wordpressdesignMemberAmin blocking the IP address is a great idea, I will look into it – in fact, I was thinking that some kind of blacklist would be useful. Having Google Checkout is good too.
wordpressdesignMemberNo I asked the first time, they want a courier or post office receipt. I told them it was intangible goods, they answered please provide courier or post office proof of delivery… like talking to a wall!
The problem is also that this same scammer can make another purchase in the future and still get the downloads today and money back tomorrow. I do not live in USA so no Paypal seller protection apparently.
I have just registered with 2checkout although I don’t think it will make much of a difference with dodgy chargebacks like this.
Looking forward to a future release of eStore with Google checkout, maybe they offer better protection who knows.
wordpressdesignMemberAnd indeed it is working now!!!!! Genius! Thank you!
wordpressdesignMemberomigod in firefox and safari is fine! in chrome and explorer is badly screwed up!!
in explorer it doesn’t even show the sidebar and the subscribe button.
wordpressdesignMemberYou don’t see that the ‘subscribe’ page is completely blue, the sidebar is in the centre of the screen instead of right, the google ad is screwed etc.??? I am using Chrome.
No I got the latest upgrade via email and uploaded it as it is. I have tried to create more than one page still the same results.
wordpressdesignMemberI am bumping this in case anyone has managed to make it work (Elegant Themes eStore theme + eStore plugin) and would like to share how.
wordpressdesignMemberStill a 404 even with Hello World, but only if placed in the estore folder, not from any other plugin folder.
I have solved it anyway, entirely deleting the estore plugin and re-uploading it.
Why it happened will remain a mystery I guess, since I’m sure it wasn’t an hosting problem. Happy anyway
wordpressdesignMemberCorrect, switching theme everything is fine. After some sheer panic luckily I solved this issue. For those with a problem similar to this one, I found a “Forms” section in the Style.css where the input fields were width=180px and changed that to 18px and voila.
