Hi,
estore keeps informing from my admin panel to make the necessary modifications to the wp-cache-phase1.php file.
I have:
– cart in sidebar on every page
– wp supercache developers edition set to preload mode
With the file modded, what happened is that the items from the last visitor’s purchase are permanently shown in the cart on every page the buyer visited! If I delete them, they reappear again apparently because the pages have been mysteriously cached with the products in the cart. Only solution has been to refresh the cache for the entire (huge) site which is a PITA.
I would rather not mod the file, and, more importantly, I would like to remove the yellow warning from my admin panel (it’s on every page and quite annoying). Thanks!
May 23, 2012 at 5:29 am #45332adminKeymasterI have been trying out a different method of WP Super cache integration which should work out better as it won’t require any code modification. I want to do some more testing before I release it but you can fill out our contact form to get in touch with me and I will send you a copy of the plugin with this modification if you want to check it out.
May 24, 2012 at 12:03 pm #45333wordpressdesignMemberNew version installed and wp supercache settings updated thanks!
The warning has disappeared which is good, now just need a real sale to see how it goes (i.e. if the products inventory counter which is shown on the sale page gets updated).
May 25, 2012 at 9:39 pm #45334wordpressdesignMemberGot a few sales and as far as I can tell the new version works flawlessly, meaning product real time counter on the (cached) sale page gets updated. Great job thank you so much!
May 29, 2012 at 11:55 am #45335wordpressdesignMemberJust FYI Amin, I was mistaken. My ‘real time counter’ was at 1 for one product, I got a sale, and still shows 1.
(No big deal for me I just save the post again to refresh the cache).
May 30, 2012 at 3:05 am #45336adminKeymasterRemember, the person who is buying the product (meaning he is interacting with the cart) will see the dynamic page (Other users will continue to see a cached page). Do you need this counter value to by dynamic to all the users?
June 3, 2012 at 12:02 am #45337wordpressdesignMemberMost products have quantity 1, and if a buyer makes a purchase, this qty does not get updated. Maybe later, a second buyer would try to make a purchase because he sees qty 1 and gets an error (qty not available).
AFTER he gets qty not available in the cart widget, OR if I edit the post clearing the cache, the quantity next the buy button gets refreshed (i.e. it shows sold out).
As said no big deal, BUT the problem now is that I upgraded to WP Supercache 1.1 and the yellow warning
‘You have the WP Super Cache plugin active. Please make sure to follow…. ‘
shows up again, and this times it shows TWICE! (See here http://bit.ly/KGUN9O)
You kindly emailed me estore 6.6.9 to get rid of this annoying problem, could you help me to fix it again please (I spend many hours a day working at my site and get distracted by those two yellow banners). THANKS!!!
June 3, 2012 at 12:08 am #45338wordpressdesignMemberActually I believe warning banners do not show because I upgraded WP Supercache. I just purchased and installed WP Affiliate and the banners have started to show again.
June 3, 2012 at 12:15 am #45339wordpressdesignMemberActually I just checked ‘Late init’ in WP Supercache (as per instructions) and the banners have disappeared (DUH)
Only problem left is quantity does not get updated.
