May 9, 2014 at 5:50 am in reply to: eStore – Pass MailChimp A Condition When Using Automatic Signup At Purchase? #62689mwsmediaMember
I’d rather not maintain different lists — rather, I’d like to add subscribers who joined as a result of a purchase to be “earmarked” for a specific segment of an existing list. If that’s not possible, I reckon I can do stuff manually (sadly, my sales volume is light enough to make that reasonable).
mwsmediaMemberI strongly suspect it’s Aweber’s issue. The plugin works perfectly with Mailchimp, and given Aweber’s issues with DDoS attacks in the last two weeks, I’m not so sure their Oauth setup is necessarily working. tscholes63, have you tested the plugin’s Mailchimp integration? Is it working for you?
mwsmediaMemberThanks! I’ll look for that, admin.
mwsmediaMemberOkay, Aweber’s back up. I’ve tested the Aweber Integration again, this time with no plugins active except for eStore and Extra Shortcodes for WP eStore.
Still not seeing a confirmation message after entering the API code and clicking “Make Connection.”
So… maybe not a plugin issue?
Also tried with the stock 2014 theme… still no result.
Ideas? Thanks!
mwsmediaMemberHm… stand by; Aweber is experiencing the third DDOS attack this week. Maybe that has something to do with it, eh?
I’ll do some testing once they’re back up…
February 28, 2014 at 9:24 pm in reply to: eStore – No Confirmation of Aweber API Configuration #61218mwsmediaMemberThanks for replying, mbrsolution.
the only message that you should have seeing is “AWeber Authorization Success”
Right — I see no message at all after clicking “Make Connection.” And to be clear, I do have an authorization code from Aweber.
My eStore version is 7.0.7.
From my squeeze_form_debug.log:
[02/28/2014 6:17 PM] – SUCCESS :Performing item specific autoresponder signup if specified.
[02/28/2014 6:17 PM] – SUCCESS :Global AWeber list signup option is enabled.
[02/28/2014 6:17 PM] – SUCCESS :Attempting to signup the user via AWeber API
[02/28/2014 6:17 PM] – FAILURE :Missing AWeber access keys! You need to first make a conntect before you can use this API
Note that, if it matters, I have no caching plugins running.
Looks pretty clear that eStore isn’t preserving the API key when I enter it. But… why?
Thanks for any help!
Matt

February 28, 2014 at 2:53 am in reply to: eStore – Apostrophes Create Slashes In Category Names #61191mwsmediaMemberThanks, admin! I noticed it does it in the PayPal Settings page (Customize the Return Button Text) section, too… so it might happen elsewhere, as well.
February 28, 2014 at 1:56 am in reply to: eStore – Apostrophes Create Slashes In Category Names #61189mwsmediaMemberHi wzp,
It’s not an offline server, it’s just not a space I want to make public just yet.
In any event, both of your options worked… but the question remains: why doesn’t eStore parse apostrophes in categories? Seems to work in product names an elsewhere in the plugin, and certainly works elsewhere in my WP installation.
Any ideas? Love to hear from the devs, too.
Thanks again!
mwsmediaMemberAdding another vote for subcategories — very surprised to see that categories in WP eStore aren’t hierarchical.
It’s confusing, to boot, since it goes against the WordPress standard. If you don’t intend to make nesting categories, perhaps call them tags? That would at least fit with the WordPress taxonomy standards.
But seriously… make categories behave like categories, please!
mwsmediaMemberWZP — I’m looking closely at digital / physical variations, but the limit of four variations per product is a killer. Wonder why that arbitrary limitation?
Admin — I was hoping to avoid creating a bunch of different products for the same item… especially since, in the case of books, each “product” will have essentially the same image representing it. I guess I can make “PAPERBACK” / “AUTOGRAPHED” / “EPUB” etc ribbons on each distinct graphic… thinking out loud.
Different products might be my only choice, with variations in use on some.
Well, it still beats MarketPress from MPMUDev!
Thanks for the input, gang. I have a clearer head about this now.
mwsmediaMemberEvery other “post type” (and I assume, perhaps incorrectly, that products are a sort of post type) has bulk actions one can take. Are there plans to match standard WP functionality and include this in future updates of the estore?
Thanks for the mysql suggestion, too, of course… but much of the point of WP is to keep people away from directly working with the database, or ftp, no?
Don’t get me wrong — I still think estore is top-shelf among WP ecommerce solutions. That’s why I want it to be better still!
mwsmediaMemberWorking through that now… I’ve discovered the issue is at play only when I try to save a draft — seems to work okay when I actually publish.
Still not acceptable. Interested in hearing from admin or others…
