August 21, 2014 at 9:29 am in reply to: PDF Stamper – getting Fatal error when trying to manually stamp a PDF file #63675mbaseSpectator
Well, I’ve been having a lot of trouble with PDF stamper recently, and I have not changed anything on my site in a long time, but its getting worse and worse. Now many customers are not receiving their ‘Thank You For Your Purchase” email, because the stamper is failing to stamp, and that seems to hang WP eStore up.
I’m pretty sure the problem is the stamper, because it will not manually stamp now, whereas it was doing it before. There is a chance that the people at the server changed something (Hostgator), but if they did they certainly didn’t tell their customers.
I tried uninstalling and installing the plugin. It’s a good thing I saved my customer’s tamped files first, because this action deleted all of the stamped files (even though the instructions said that nothing would be deleted).
Still trying the manual stamping as I’m typing it, and its not working, on the same files that it was working on before (I have the stamped files to prove it).
Any suggestions on what to look for on the server? Again, it’s Hostgator.
mbaseSpectatorThanks for the tipoff! I’m using Hostgator, who as you may know, experienced a meltdown yesterday. I was looking into changing servers, thinking about InMotion, and just wanted to get some feedback before making the big switch.
Although this was a little off the subject, but I had also experienced some problems with stamping, and wanted to see if a change in servers would help this as well.
mbaseSpectator@guajolote — This was a while ago, but given the recent problems with hosters, can I ask which server did you change to? And was it shared or dedicated?
April 4, 2014 at 1:48 am in reply to: Display all membership levels of the user in his profile? #53917mbaseSpectatorOK, so just one short of 2^32. Thanks for that info. Hmm, I guess I need to search for a plugin that will give me more levels then – LOL!
April 3, 2014 at 10:41 pm in reply to: Display all membership levels of the user in his profile? #53915mbaseSpectatorThis sounds very close to something that I would like to do. But the big question is, using this method above, how many multiple membership levels can one particular member belong to? I know that there are unlimited membership levels, unlimited members, and the possibility of each member having more than one membership level. What I cannot find is this. Is there a limit to how many membership levels one member can belong to?
mbaseSpectatorNot working for me either. I’m using Hostgator.
I click on a link for an Mp3 in the protected download folder and nothing happens, no username & password request, no file playing, nada.
Too bad, would’ve been a great solution for me. But I guess I’m going to go back to the normal protection method. All the members having to continually put in their passwords would be a drag for them anyway.
March 19, 2014 at 3:40 pm in reply to: eMember: change default Membership Level in Add/Edit Members screen #51518mbaseSpectatorThanks, I’ll give this a try, and if it doesn’t work, I’ll just revert back to the backed-up DB table. I’ll let you know the results.
March 19, 2014 at 9:28 am in reply to: eMember: change default Membership Level in Add/Edit Members screen #51516mbaseSpectatorThanks. Can I drop just the eMember Membership Table (wp_wp_eMember_members_tbl) without affecting the eMember Membership Levels Table (wp_wp_eMember_membership_tbl)?
And if the eMember Membership Table is dropped, does the eMember plugin simply construct a new Membership Table when the first user registers? I just want to make sure before I do this, as there is no turning back once it’s done.
If possible, I don’t want to drop my Membership Levels Table, as my Membership Levels took a lot of work to get right, with the drip setup and all, so I’d rather not have to do that all over again.
March 19, 2014 at 5:47 am in reply to: eMember: change default Membership Level in Add/Edit Members screen #51514mbaseSpectatorRegarding the eMember IDs, what I wanted to do was delete all of my test members ahead of launching, and I did not want to start with ID numbers over 100 (we did a lot of tests).
Regarding the Membership Level IDs, I just wanted consecutive numbers so that we could remember the levels and make less mistakes in our permissions coding. But I can live with these IDs, I was just wondering if they could possibly be reset. Thanks for the quick response.
March 19, 2014 at 2:10 am in reply to: eMember: change default Membership Level in Add/Edit Members screen #51512mbaseSpectatorIs there a way to change the membership level IDs or reorder them?
When we were doing our testing, we were not sure of the names of the membership level, because we did not know that they were used for dripping content. Now, the level IDs are out of wack, even skipping a lot of numbers. It’s the same deal with the eMember IDs, which now start at a very high number after testing.
What I would like to do is to reset the IDs of both the eMembers and their Membership Levels before we launch. Can this be accomplished by editing the database, or would this throw everything that we have programmed already off?
mbaseSpectatorThanks for this tip.
March 18, 2014 at 8:02 pm in reply to: Verification of Email Entered on the Edit Profile Page #61472mbaseSpectatorI have not heard anything back regarding this email validation that you are referring to, on the the Member Profile Edit Page. Is this something that I can quickly add myself? And if so, which php page should I be looking for? It thought it would be in a file like eMember_profile_utils.php – but I can’t find anything there.
mbaseSpectatorIs it possible to use PDF stamper to stamp eMember information (username, email, First & Last name, etc.) on PDFs that will be downloaded from my site, but that do not go through eStore? For example, PDFs that eMembers would download, but that are not purchases?
March 11, 2014 at 10:31 am in reply to: Verification of Email Entered on the Edit Profile Page #61471mbaseSpectatorThanks for the reply. When you wrote “there is one validation in there already”, in which file are you referring to? And which file handles the Member Profile Edit Page?
mbaseSpectatorOK, I’ll give it a try now.
