Tried to activate PDF Stamper with PDF Stamper License Key provided in purchase email and get the following results:

    License key is invalid!

    Reached Maximum Allowable Domains!

I only have this installed on one domain.

    What to do?

That error means someone has already used that license in one domain. If you are the owner of that license and you haven’t activated it then please contact us with your license key and we will be able to see which site is using the license and correct the issue:

I deactivated the plug in and activated it again and put the same PDF Stamper ID and it validated. Go figure.

However, in trying to manual stamp a PDF I get a time out problem. Reading around on the site I discovered that the PHP.ini script needs to be increased to 60 seconds from 30 seconds. However, my service provider (HostGator) tells me that with my account, they can not increase up the execution time form 30 to 60 seconds (company policy) unless I change to a different server plan at, you guessed it, and increased monthly payment. Are there any other work arounds?

    Sorry about two posts!

The saga continues. HostGator tech support gave me incorrect information. Have increased the execution time from 30 t0 60 sec with the following results when trying to manually stamp.

An error occurred while trying to stamp the file!

Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 67108864) (tried to allocate 493943 bytes) in /home/harmonpr/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-pdf-stamper/lib/fpdi/pdf_context.php on line 0

    What to do?

From the message description, it’s saying that it ran out of memory. Try increasing the memory_limit parameter in your server’s php.ini file.

Can you try a smaller “test” file, just to make sure the installation works?

A smaller file works. I have tried the memory increase all the way up to 704M. The allocated in the above figure, i.e., 493943 reduced to 407, but it still timed out. The file size is just about 12 MB. I checked the file from it’s location (i.e., URL) and it downloads. I checked the file internally. There is nothing internally, i.e., password, etc. that is set. It’s completely open. I am not all that familiar with how the PHP.ini file works in the case of memory, so I not sure how high I can our should go without offending the ISP.

The particular file, (12 MG) is to date the largest file that I would be stamping, most are around 6-7 MB.

BTW, when manual stamping the file is returned to the stamped folder changed from …request.pdf to request_4d751612de1c3.pdf. I understand the addition of the numeric coding, so, does that file name/link sent to a customer have a dropdead time or is it open forever.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I think the file content is too complex for the stamper, without the additional memory. After the buyer gets the encrypted link, and downloads the file, you have to manually clear out old files from the stamped file directory.

    By “complex” you mean?

BTW: I get a in some stamps like God’s instead of God’s. How can I clear this up?

    Thanks

By “complex,” I meant content within the original file that is perhaps making it too big for PDF Stamper to handle. We’ve seen this in the past, where someone has an original file they got from someplace else, that has a lot of meta-data embedded in it.

Did you create the file, that you are trying to stamp, yourself?

I’ll let Amin address the ‘ issue.

It is a file that I created from Adobe PM7 in 2007. I created it using a postscript file and then used Adobe distiller (PDF/X-1a:2001) to create the file for POD purposes. Will Admin respond to the ‘ issue here or somewhere else?

I have sent you an email so you can send me this PDF file. I will use it on my test server and get back to you.

Thanks Ivy. I have emailed you with the link.

Can you also respond to the ‘ difficulty. This happened when I stamped a smaller file with the name God’s EPIC… it came out stamped God’s EPIC.

Just wondering if there is a fix for that.

    Thanks

    Winn

Regarding the “PDF Stamper not stamping a file when used with the eStore plugin”…

Turned out that you did not check the “Stamp the PDF File” field for this product in the “AddOn Settings” section. You need to tell eStore if a file needs to be stamped otherwise it won’t do it.

I’m finding it very difficult to even test this product. I purchased it and installed it on my site. Then I later created a sub-domain for testing (realized I should have done this at first) and deactivated PDF Stamper on the first domain and tried to reactivate it for testing purposes on the subdomain. Got the “License key is invalid! Reached Maximum Allowable Domains!” error.

I deleted PDF Stamper completely from both domains, still get the same error.

If we cannot even move the product from one domain to the next (for testing), then how is it possible to test it on a site that is not live yet? This is very restrictive for a product that we have actually purchased.

Also, I will eventually have to move it back to the live domain when I am finished testing.

I don’t have this problem with any of the other plugin’s I purchased, eStore, eMember, etc.

I understand that this is a one-domain license, but does this mean that you can never use it again, once you have used it on one domain? Shouldn’t it be that it can only be installed on one domain at a time? Otherwise, how can this be tested on anything but a live site?
