Okay, no worries. Thanks for the reply.
KateMemberI was just coming to post this same question! If you get a solution, would you be able to share it? Thanks so much!
KateMemberHey! Any ideas why the members aren’t being created? I have a bit of a deadline to get this thing wrapped up, so I’d appreciate any help you can give.
Thanks!
KateMemberI was just coming to post back about this! First of all, yes, I am getting the notification of sale e-mail. Second, I checked my catch-all inbox on my server, and it had all of the e-mails waiting. Each one had a “relaying not permitted” message. Even so, it looks like only the last one I tried yesterday had an encrypted link. Not sure what the difference was between that and the others.??? (I did add the from field and hit update options. Not sure if that would do it or not.) Anyhow, I tried registering again, and the e-mail is being sent, but it’s getting caught by my server. Also, when I copy and paste the link from the e-mail and complete the registration that way, the matching WP user still isn’t created.
KateMemberYes, I do. As well as the “send e-mail to buyers”. Again, most of the other fields seem to be getting populated, just not the e-mail field. (Only when registering a free user.) Free members don’t receive an e-mail either, but I’m not entirely sure they’re supposed to.
This is the process I’m following: Click the buy membership button. Proceed to PayPal checkout. Make purchase. Return to site. But, there’s no e-mail to confirm registration.
(Thanks for your help, btw!
KateMemberI just had the default settings for “Email Settings”. I realized I didn’t have the from e-mail address set. Even though I didn’t think that would make a difference, I set it and registered a new paid user. Still no dice. The user is created with the correct membership level in the eMember table, but there’s no e-mail set for it, and there’s no matching WP user created.
I’m not sure if it helps, but the subscription_handle_debug.log says: “SUCCESS:Member signup completion email successfully sent”.
December 26, 2009 at 3:53 am in reply to: Question about Integrating WP eStore with WP eMembers #15783KateMemberThanks so much for the reply and the breakdown. And, it absolutely does make sense. I’m sorry I didn’t quite get it before. I’ll blame it on lack of sleep.
I was hoping to have the signup/registration form be the main thing all users see on the home page (until they log in), but I guess I can figure something else out for the design. I’m creating a dating site for a client, and the majority of them seem to have that “get started now” form on the home page. Hmmm… I’ll have to think about that one.
KateMemberI’m actually having a similar issue. In my case, the member is created, however there was no e-mail address set in the DB. Therefore, I never received a conformation e-mail with the registration link. I went into subscription_handle_debug.log and copy/pasted the URL for now. Obviously I need to figure out what the issue is, though. Any idea what it could be? (The member is created with the correct membership type, btw.)
Edit: In addition, I just realized that, though I have the option set to create a WP user also, it only does this for the “free” membership level. Paid users do not have a matching WP account created.
December 25, 2009 at 7:46 pm in reply to: Question about Integrating WP eStore with WP eMembers #15781KateMemberFirst, I want to apologize that I’ve been all over the site! I posted a question in the comments section, one in the documentation section, and now one here! Don’t mean to be a nuisance! Hopefully it’s not too much trouble for you.
Anyhow, I have a question along the lines of drmani, but, slightly different. I’d like to be able to have all users start off on the same registration page. From there, they can choose which membership type they want from (perhaps) a drop-down. Or, after registration and confirming their e-mail, they’re re-directed to a page where they can select one of the three buttons to say which membership type they want. Is this possible? I’m just trying to figure out the best way to keep the registration flow basically the same for any type of user. I have three membership types: trial (expires in 1 day), free (no expiration), and paid (must be renewed every year).
Thanks so much!
