June 29, 2011 at 3:33 am in reply to: Customers forgetting to press the UPDATE Shipping Options button #30719jerel maniMemberI cannot see a place to set the default shipping. Customers are just not clicking a shipping option and the sale goes through minus the shipping. Can we make selecting the shipping a required field before checking out to paypal?
February 27, 2011 at 2:59 pm in reply to: variation shipping not adding to total on Paypal and manual checkout. #29159jerel maniMemberHi Ivy,
Unfortunately the problem has come back.
I have done some exstensive testing and have narrowed it down to adding the sidebar widget cart into my sidebar seems to have something wrong with it.
I have no problems with the normal cart when added to a page. But when i include the cart widget the shipping gets ignored.
My knowledge of php is very little and i have not idea why this is happening.
February 18, 2011 at 9:34 pm in reply to: variation shipping not adding to total on Paypal and manual checkout. #29156jerel maniMembermy client has asked me to leave the site hidden until it is finished to launch.
I have to sent you a login. thanks jerel
jerel maniMemberweird. i did steps 4 and 5 (no settings needed changing though) with sandbox and voila, paypal confirmation emails started to come through to me. and 1 of the purchases showed on my log from yesterday. And i recieved the “notification of product sale” It wasn’t there this morning though. And of course the sandbox test showed on the log too.
so maybe it’s working now? well thats good. But i wonder what fixed it? seems things need to cook a bit but i wouldn’t think so…
thanks ivy
jerel maniMemberOh and further.
It is running in live mode.
I have set Paypal to your recommended default settings.
The good thing is that the customer can watch the VOD.
Though without a confirmation email they don;t have a link to goto of course.
please let me know if you need more info.
jerel maniMemberI’ve copied and pasted an expired link and it produces a web page that simply states “link expired”.
If i copy a fresh generated url it just goes to the normal page that it should reveal with the video player.
I’m going to email ruhul with a security issue that i have found with the plugin. Better not to discuss it on this open forum i think.
jerel maniMemberI’ve got it thanks you Ivy.
I’ve set it all up and it appears to be working.
Now of course i have a question.
In the settings panel under Pay per view settings
There is the section “Redirection Page for Unauthorized Access”
“Visitors will be redirected to this page when trying to access the Pay Per View URL without clicking on a valid link.”
I have created a page and would like to test it. How can i replicate this “Unauthorized Access”?
To see how it works?
jerel maniMembergreat. Thank you very much.
How do i install it?
And can this basic page still be a wordpress generated page or does it need to be a static html page?
jerel maniMemberThank you. I really want to get this (your estore software) out there for other independent film makers.
As you know , like with niche programing there ain’t alot of ways to recoupe your costs.
jerel maniMemberamin007, i would love this script that you are talking about.
I’m a film maker and have just set up your estore plugin on my site.
I have tried creating a streaming video page on wordpress then linking to that from the digital downloads item but the page just hangs and does nothing.
Then i tried setting up a bear bones html page with streaming on it. But when a user clicks on the digital download link it does just that , down loads the html file and then its available to whoever has this page.
So how do a do a Pay-per-view setup?
This will be a godsend because i looked at doing PPV with amazon and some private comapnies and it is very expensive and i recieve very little return (amazon take %50 and then tax…).
I have looked on you sites for a tutorial and have not had much joy.
thanks.
