dwboneMemberBTW, you can do a browser check your self here:
works in Safari.
does not work in Firefox or Chrome.
Thanks
dwboneMemberThought I posted my reply already…doh! anyway,
I actually have yet to fully implemented our store – it is not live to the public. and was never tested in Chrome or Firefox, so don’t know when products “stopped” being added to cart. And note that I mentioned that the store works perfectly in Safari.
I have visited the page you posted and I don’t have any of the bad plugins and our current plugins to do not seem do be causing the problem in Chrome and/or Firefox
Thanks for your help.
May 11, 2014 at 9:25 pm in reply to: Updating Price Field Automatically When Selecting a Variation #48760dwboneMemberi’m using eStore, 7.0.7, I’m using fancy display 8
I decided to not display the price but instead leave it to the variations drop down. I like the display with out the price better anyway.
Thanks again.
dwboneMemberInteresting, I’ll have to check that out… though i wouldn’t want customer to goto a subpage.
Actually I got what i wanted using some hide/show div code. thanks… though I may need to revisit this as my set up won’t automatically update when a new product is added…. but for now i will work with it…
in the meantime, on to other issues in new post…
thanks.
dwboneMemberInteresting and useful, but I am already able to display a list of categories that takes visitor to a list of products in which ever fancy display, within that category.. not quite what I am hoping to accomplish.
I’d “simply” like to display the title of the songs in an alphabetical list/index, and when visitor clicks/selects the title, the variations and add to cart elements are shown.
the category add-on and the search add-on come close to this functionality, product details being serve upon user selection/input…
in our case we’d like the input to be a text/link which serves the product details.
really appreciate the feedback, support. love the plugin and it’s seemingly endless adaptations.
Thanks.
May 8, 2014 at 7:02 pm in reply to: Updating Price Field Automatically When Selecting a Variation #48758dwboneMemberHi Admin, opening up this issue again, (I could start a new if you’d prefer) – but I am not seeing price change as customer toggles trough variation drop down… did you ever implement that in current versions of eStore for fancy displays other than 1 and 2?
dwboneMemberAh ha! thank you.
dwboneMemberOkay, coming back-atcha now – (this is really an extension of previous post.)
Thank you again, (didn’t think you were being difficult, btw – no hard feelings, sometimes forum Q&A’s don’t always get to the heart of the question) – anyway, I have since gotten to understanding the digital variation coding better… and have successfully mass duplicated relevant product data within excel and upload to the cart.. awesome.
— Now, I am attempting to do bulk updating of the per product Category,
I have 734 products and 14 possible categories setup in eStore admin… so, in Excel, I’d like to indicate which category a product belongs to (rather than going through eStore admin and indicating category one product at time).
It would appear that category is “affirmed” in t1 and t3 fields with a letter “D”. However, no matter which category I select per product within eStore admin these fields are filled with a letter “D” – there doesn’t seem so be a field that contains which category the product specifically belongs in.
I am wondering where the specified category (per product) is stored in the database / csv.
Thanks for any insight.
dwboneMemberI did create dummy “test” products as i mentioned in my previous post, and went into phpMyAdmin and searched, and even imported the data back into excel to review, but wasn’t seeing it. btw, I have read and watched the tutorials- blah blah blah – but my post wasn’t asking for basics.
—anyway, finally after digging around the db I figured out that the digital variable field, (which for anyone else looking) is contained in the “Variation3″ column. The individual digital variations are not stored in separate fields/columns (which is what I was expecting/looking for). They are stored in a single cell, lead by the variable’s name, (i.e.. SIZE) followed by a ” | ” divider ( – each variation is separated by a ” | ” )– the variation details, (price, description…) are separated by a double colon ” :: “
(surprised you folks didn’t know that)
Not as neat as one might like for managing variations and extensive product line, but I did find it. (it would be nice if digital variations had their own fields).
dwboneMemberThanks again for your responses,

dwboneMemberThanks wzp for your explanation,
Perhaps I can explain our specific needs;
We sell downloadable music. Each song title has downloadable “variations”
SONG TITLE.mp3 / Karaoke.mp3 / Sheet Music.pdf / Lyrics.pdf / Video.mov
180 song titles and their digital variations, I’d like to enter the data via excel, then upload the DB.
The e-Store Admin offers and excellent set-up for digital variations, however, I don’t see which field this data is stored in within the CSV file that I’ve imported into excel, I don’t see the cell(s) that contain my test products’ DIGITAL variations field(s).
Am I missing it?
Thanks, again.
