I’m not using anything to globally change my email address, but my question isn’t about the email address the plugin is sending to, it’s the email address that it shows to have come from–the ‘X@yahoo.com’ email address, which doesn’t even exist as far as I know.
The email generated by the purchase went to the correct address, and and the subject line and contents were all correct. But for some reason, when it arrived, the ‘From:’ email address showed this strange ‘yahoo’ email address, not the email address that is setup in my eStore settings, or even one from my own domain.
Maybe it’s purely coincidental that in this test I was using my own Yahoo email account to receive the email after purchase, it’s the first time I’ve done that. But it’s strange that the first letter of my domain is “X” and the bogus From: field showed as ‘X@yahoo.com’, which made me wonder if Yahoo is trying to check spam or something and substituting some weird combo email address for the From: field. That’s just a guess, but I can’t account for it and want to be sure this isn’t a glitch in WP eStore.
Thanks,
Chris
Chris LambrightMemberI’m still considering PDF Stamper, which seems to be the only option I’ve seen so far to have any kind of control over PDF’s being too loosely circulated. Knowing it could be stamped several ways is good, but I’m curious about this:
Is the stamp somehow flat text imprinted in the page, or is it placed in a text box or something in the footer that can be printed white-on-white so it is not visible (since this is a book, I’d rather not have visible text printed in the footer that may intrude on the reading.) My thinking is to tell buyers that the file is secured to them as the purchaser, but to have the stamp located somewhere only I would know to look, or several places.
I don’t really have any interest in going after anyone in particular if the file was circulated, though saying the document is secured to them might siscourage rampant abuse. It would at least not be a stamp visibly planted on a page, but might let me know where a file came from if one ever was too widely circulated.
Thanks…open to hearing opinions too.

March 11, 2012 at 10:20 pm in reply to: "add to cart" like fancy2, but just the line at the bottom? #42961Chris LambrightMemberUpdate: I happened to stumble across this post, which answered the question and gave me exactly what I want.
Very handy to put this in the bottom of your own product page.
Thanks Amin (and the original poster),

Chris LambrightMemberThanks, I already know that and am using it in one place on my site. It doesn’t answer the question though.
March 2, 2012 at 5:11 am in reply to: "Add to cart" button…but with a link to "View Cart" if desired? #42413Chris LambrightMemberI thought I’d follow-up on my own post and say how I’ve managed to do a little of what I wanted:
To be able to show the “total items in cart” display on specific pages that apply to buying a product, I downloaded two plugins, a)a plugin that let’s you run PHP code inside a widget, and b) a plugin that let me specify on what pages a widget will display.
I put the php code to display the “total items in cart” in an instance of the php-code widget, and then limited that widget to display in the widget area, but only on the pages I wanted. It’s a hack, and not the final solution I’m working toward, but it works. I’d created a small graphic pointing to the box showing the total items, and now it will only be seen when you’re on a page that could lead to purchasing, not on other generic pages.

Chris LambrightMemberGood grief…it sounds so obvious now that you say it. Thanks, it obviously works perfectly, though for whatever reason it simply didn’t occur to me at first.(May I nicely suggest a little bit of colored text right under where the link is generated with something like “Don’t forget to paste the link into the email below)
Thank you Obi-wan-kenobi.
Chris LambrightMemberI’m very interested in the ability to show certain product details using new shortcodes. I purchased the plugin about 4 days ago, so would the shortcodes you’re talking about already have been included, or do I need to update already?
Also, how about more options to display specific product details in the shopping cart itself? The fancy cart 1 is great, but I haven’t seen a way to show the thumbnail inside the fancy cart. There’s shortcode to show the cart with the thumbnail, but it doesn’t display the ‘fancy’ look and feel. Any way to really tweak the shopping cart display to perhaps make it more unique…i.e. fancier or tailored to the site?
Thanks,
Chris
