March 1, 2012 at 10:22 pm in reply to: Admin rights management: Allow a 3rd party to change members' levels only? #28860acekinParticipant
I have just found this thread and used the method described, it works. However, if we upgrade eMember this change will disappear. Will it be possible to add this to the admin panel of eMember plugin so that it becomes a parameter in the database and will carry forward with upgrades.
Thanks
acekinParticipantThank you, I have made the recommended changes and will keep watching.

acekinParticipantYes, there is W3 Total cache installed. That may explain some part of the behavior but why would it present another member’s record? In order for that to happen the wrong record must have been cached earlier, right?
Is the proposed solution to disable Total Cache? Not a big deal for this site really, but I am curious as to the origin of the initial confusion of the records. Also, how did logging in to WordPress first rather than eMember directly might have “fixed” the problem?

November 16, 2011 at 5:04 am in reply to: I would like to use Shadowbox JS for Lightbox substitute #38459acekinParticipantI have found the culprit of the behavior I described in the above post. The grouping is done by the product title, which is reasonable. It just happens that the previous items were also called “Leather Handbag” so they were all grouped into one. I changed the product title of the fourth bag to include a code and it now displays only two images under that title. We will add product codes to separate them.
My request for this feature to be incorporated remains though!
Thanks for the help. Our problem is solved.

Furthermore, I think it adds value to the product. Please consider incorporating it.

November 16, 2011 at 4:46 am in reply to: I would like to use Shadowbox JS for Lightbox substitute #38457acekinParticipantThank you, this was helpful. To a large extent it is working, and it is working the same way with Lightbox-2 and Shadowbox JS. There is one anomaly though. In the fourth product there is a second image, the incongruous watch. It correctly displays as expected. However, the scrolling backwards shows the original bag image for this product and continues scrolling backwards to show the other products. Also, after displaying the first product image, the scrolling forward continues and stops after displaying the secondary image of the fourth product. See the page in question in the following link. The fourth item has a secondary image, a watch:
The anomaly (maybe anomalies) is:
1. The image scrolling starts on the first image and continues forward. I would have expected it to display only the image(s) of the current product item
2. If the continuous scrolling is considered normal behavior, then it should not stop after displaying the secondary image of the fourth product item but continue forward.
This behavior is identical whether I use Lightbox-2 or Shadowbox which is a Lighbox replacement. Could the code be tweaked to display the image(s) of the chosen product only? Otherwise, which image is the supplemental image of which product becomes impossible to discern.
Thank you for the pointer, I hope you can point me in the direction of another fix!

This was the recommended setup in the thread I mentioned before. If I leave the WP eStore lightbox effect checked, they both pop up; yours will scroll through all the images, including the second, third,… images of a single product and when closed the Lightbox 2 display shows up but does not scroll through ANY of the images. Each product image (single) presented with no “Next” “Previous” buttons.

November 15, 2011 at 3:28 am in reply to: I would like to use Shadowbox JS for Lightbox substitute #38453acekinParticipantThanks, yes, Shadowbox JS looks for rel=lightbox, and it displays the first image. But does not scroll to the next image used for the same product. The way images are grouped into a set, I believe, is via rel=lightbox[gallery1] syntax where gallery1 is assigned to all the images in the set. Furthermore, the second image URL appears outside the div that contains the first image. Are these handled by eStore? How, and how can they be modified?
I have no problem of using a different presentation tool and I did try the lightbox 2 as recommended in one of the forum threads here. But that also did not scroll through the additional images. The ONLY time the second, third, … images of the same product is shown is when I disable all image handling and let your built in product handle it. In that case, I have to forgo proper image displays elsewhere on the site. Additionally, the lightbox facility you seem to have built into the product does not have the ability to properly downsize the images. There needs to be a better way. So far I do not have an answer from Tips-And-Tricks HQ. Let us try once more, shall we?

September 20, 2011 at 2:28 pm in reply to: Price change possible at client side, and thumbnail question #36781acekinParticipantThanks for both answers. For physical product orders the system will still accept the wrong payment and produce an order to be filled, am I right?
September 19, 2011 at 3:00 am in reply to: Price change possible at client side, and thumbnail question #36779acekinParticipantA follow up to the above question: It would be a great feature if the thumbnail can be set at the product level. Optionally of course. This will allow portrait or landscape dimensions to be accommodated depending on the need.
acekinParticipantNo I did not upgrade eStore. My guess, just a guess, is that this is the result of my allowing anyone to purchase membership without first creating an account and logging in. I have since changed that, the products are behind a validated user only restriction. As I said earlier, I renewed my membership after logging in and it correctly applied the new purchase to my existing account instead of creating a new account. I will fix the other three manually and keep watching it. In the mean time, shall I reset the log files again and leave them on while I open the renewal of membership? By the way, where is the “Reset Log Files” button?
acekinParticipantI was actually exporting from phpMyAdmin since the export to CVS does not include a key field I need, “subscription starts” based on which I calculate the expiration date. That’s how this observation started. I saw the blank fields at the end of the spread sheet. I would much rather get this report from eMember control panel, but the export fields include a selected set rather than the whole table columns.
Below is the content of the other log file.

acekinParticipantYet another update: The three members who “renewed” memberships have two records, one with correct e-mail, login ID, one without. I had made the purchase available without logging in, perhaps I should force login again. Please advise.
