acekinParticipant
One more thing to report. I told you I did not see the user name, password hash, and e-mail in the MySQL DB table wp_wp_emember_members_tbl when viewed from phpMyAdmin. That is still true, however when I view the member record, I see the e-mail and the user name, the password is normally blank and I see a blank field. I am confused now even more. BTW, I did disable the plugin and then enabled it after uplading all the new files.
acekinParticipantI have activated the debug mode, but could not find the “Reset log files” button. However, the log file had zero bytes, so I went ahead and paid my dues. It went as expected and my user name, password and e-mail remained intact. I will be pasting the debug file content below for you to see. Is there a behavior difference between purchasing a membership after logging in and buying one without logging in? Do you advise keeping the debug mode on for a while? I have hidden the purchase membership page to prevent further aggravating the situation, shall I make it visible again and wait?
Here is the debug file contents:

acekinParticipantBump!
acekinParticipantAmin, there is a different problem now. When a member renews membership the record is losing several key information: login ID, e-mail, password, phone number. These are the ones I care for and I have a screen capture that shows the missing fields. This is a serious problem for me since they will not be able to login to their accounts even to correct the missing pieces of information. This happened after I updated the eMember with the latest version I requested. Three people renewed memberships since and all are missing the same fields of information. I will appreciate your urgent handling of this. I can e-mail the screen capture from phpMyAdmin browse, please provide an e-mail where I can send that file.
Cemal
acekinParticipantThanks Amin, I downloaded and modified the file I always modify and uploaded it. After activating it I tried to register with no information and received the error pop ups. I had not tried that on the old version. My fear was, and still is, that a hacker is trying to inject some code under the radar. You do not seem to think that is the case and I am comforted by that. We’ll see how this goes.
Thanks for your help as usual.
Cemal
acekinParticipantThanks Amin, this works now. It will be a lot smoother now. If I could get the export to CVS fields changed the way I would like I will be a real happy camper. My I send you the block I keep pasting into one of the .php files every time there is an update. The changes are minor but important for our membership committee.
acekinParticipantI have a related question, which may be a solution. There is auto upgrade option for the membership types. What if I “upgraded” the regular paid memberships to “free membership” after 366 days? If I also make the free membership never expiring, will they be automatically be like they first registered to the site? That might give them the ability to see the purchase membership options. Will this work? Also, will the 366 days be counted from the last renewal date or the first start date? There may be a solution hiding here, what do you think?
Cemal
acekinParticipantThank you, I will keep checking here.
acekinParticipantThis must have been a local cache issue, it seems to be working now. I can protect a post for a list of membership categories. Consider this thread resolved.
acekinParticipantAdditionally, if I protect a post by using the check boxes at the end and make it visible only to 4 out of 6 membership levels the entire page is locked, that is good. But if I put a section protection using [ emember_protect ] the entire page becomes visible. I am baffled, in combination with the above problem the entire protections scheme is failing me.
acekinParticipantAmin, I am quoting one of your responses from page 1 of this thread:
[blockquote]You do have a point. I will look into it to see if I can add a shortcode that protects a section of a post or page in a such a way that anyone who is logged in can view it (it won’t care about their membership status). [/blockquote]
I tried the shortcode you provided above. It behaves rather strangely, it does not display anything, but it does not indicate that there is content hidden for members only either.
I still think the problem is the status of the “expired membership”. If it reverted to “free member” that works. I use [ emember_protected ] shortcode for the block that offers the membership to purchase, an active free member can see that but an expired member of any level cannot see it. All I need is the validation that someone is simply a registered user who has logged in to display the content. As the quote above may remind you, you did find that to be a valid point a while back. I hope you will take another look into this.
Thanks,
Cemal
acekinParticipantAmin, I have received the latest version of eMember and updated the files. However, an expired membership still does not allow one to login and see the eMember protected content. I thought you would be changing the logic and look for logged in status. This is quite inconvenient for our use.
Cemal
acekinParticipantYes, Amin, that works. But our membership chair person exports the data into Excel and he does not have access to PHPMyAdmin (thank goodness for that!!) Otherwise, I have to do his work, now you see the reason behind my madness I am also thinking of the eMember’s robustness in providing user-friendly functionality.
acekinParticipantI understand. Could the alternative be to export all the fields in the member DB rather than the select few you export? Since not all the fields are exported, I need to edit the code after every update to get what I need. If all the fields are exported it will be easier to delete them in Excel.
acekinParticipantSounds good! How about the previous post request of integrating a selectable fields to export to CSV?
