One of our members had difficulty logging in, I went and changed his password and relayed that to him with instructions to change it right away. He wrote back and told me after logging in he visited the member profile page but ended up seeing a different member profile. I validated this from my computer using the same credentials, sure enough I was looking at a different person’s record.
I logged out and logged in to WordPress (not to eMember) using his login information and changed his password there once more just to write something to the record. I logged out, and from the front page login widget I logged in once more as him. After that I visited the profile page and the correct person’s profile was showing.
1. Any idea why this might have happened on two separate computers?
2. Why and how did my logging in to WordPress might have “fixed” the problem (if fixed)?
3. How can I check the integrity of the records without creating additional problems?
I am using Version v6.8.1 of eMember on psri.us
Thanks,
Cemal
January 11, 2012 at 5:18 am #40584adminKeymasterThat looks like a caching related issue to me (all of you were seeing a cached version of the page). Are you using a caching plugin?
January 11, 2012 at 2:39 pm #40585acekinParticipantYes, there is W3 Total cache installed. That may explain some part of the behavior but why would it present another member’s record? In order for that to happen the wrong record must have been cached earlier, right?
Is the proposed solution to disable Total Cache? Not a big deal for this site really, but I am curious as to the origin of the initial confusion of the records. Also, how did logging in to WordPress first rather than eMember directly might have “fixed” the problem?

January 12, 2012 at 5:40 am #40586adminKeymasterIf you disable W3 Total Cache plugin then you won’t see this behavior. Alternatively, follow this guide:

January 13, 2015 at 5:20 pm #40588Mdudley286MemberWe have been currently experiencing this issue as well. When brought to our attention via one of our members if I change their password then they can log in fine. However not every member tell us this is happening as they do not always see the profile page.
Would very much like this not to be an issue.
