OK, here is my situation (I’ll try to keep it short and simple)
My company records video of youth sporting events.
I record 600+/- sporting events (games) per event. I sell the games as digital downloads to parents. We pre-sell the games at a discount so if the parent orders (and pays for) the video before the event they get X% off. We sell individual games and team packages (all games that your team plays).
Since the game’s times/locations/teams might change before the event, I have been only selling “credits” for these games. You pay for a game and get $xx.00 credit. You come back after the tournament and select the game you want, enter the coupon number and get the download link. I limit the # of downloads per user so they don’t pass the link around to all their teammates.
Paypal doesn’t allow a $0.00 purchase, so if the credit exactly matches the purchase amount, it won’t work.
Any ideas on how I can better accomplish this? Is there a way to send a link to a customer that can access the file/download only once or twice?
Once I have the games up and posted (post-event), it’s not a problem since they can pay and instantly get a download link. It’s the pre-sale where I am having issues.
Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.
A few people have used eStore in the past to do event or product presales…

Essentially, you sell a placeholder physical product, which upon its becoming available, is converted into a digital product.
